On my travels today was a happy field of sunflowers...............

Sunflowers are from my wife's rock garden and the butterflies are mine :) We have always admired the large sunflowers and we are hoping to get some seeds for eating if butterflies don't eat them all :) This is our first attempt to grow some. Picture taken in our backyard. I don't do too many flower and insect macros but just had to take one for my wife :)

Sunflowers follow poppies. As I could see this morning, these have also completely faded in the meantime. Here they are still in their full splendor and glory.

A planned photo excursion turned out to be a flop. Disappointed, I made my way home. Then I discovered a wasteland full of sunflowers and white flowers that I didn't know between two sections of the motorway. It was not at all easy to find access to the wasteland - but thank God there is a navigation system in the car!!

Out of my Sunflowers I get different shades of colors plus rusty.

After lots of rain this sunflower is trying to hang on.

A thoughtful local resident has grown sunflowers outside their fence. I left Ray finishing his coffee outside Margo's Café and walked over to take a few shots.

A strong breeze came up as I reached the sunflowers but amazingly, this new little camera got all shots, except one, in focus.

Somehow this cute little sunflower ended up in my flower box hanging off of my fence!
