SH-2 132 Lion Nebula HOO
SH2-132 Lion Nebula has always been an image I wanted to capture and actually look a little like a Lion.
Not sure if it made the grade this time but pleased with the colour contrast and details in the Oiii and Ha regions.
In this image I made some changes to the editing workflow to leave the colour control and blending to PhotoShop and used PixInsight for the image pre-processing and stacking.
A high resolution image with imaging details can be found on my Astrobin page at: astrob.in/4pj3m2/0/

I love this Snow so much. I love her bodice. I love her cape. I love her face. I love her collar. I even love her original skirt (I just already had this one made before I got her )
In summary, she's flawless!
A brief summary of 2024: 364 days of tenderness and one day with a slap in the face 😉

Meet Nicole..
its been a little busy and a while since I posted here - so hoping to get right back into the groove. Met Nicole, a live wire young lady a few day back on my photo stroll. Nicole works as a hostess at a local restaurant as she gets ready to start college at he Penn state university- studying to be psychologist especially dealing with children and addiction. Confident and extremely articulate, and kind with a great attitude especially since she was really tired when I met her but completely engaged in the conversation and the pictures. In fact although we did a lot of no-smiles pictures I chose the ones with the smile just because that reflected the warmth Nicole exuded. She seemed to be an artist at heart - and loves writing and poetry. Her favorite memory - working as a camp counsellor last year - and you could see the joy in her face as she spoke of working with young kids. Honestly, this is just a summary of a fun and in fact a learning experience with a young lady who seemed mature beyond her years and head firmly on her shoulders and feet firmly on the ground. Wishing you all the best Nicole -hope all your dreams come true as you step into this phase of your life journey.

Yes - October has passed so very quickly, and suddenly winter beckons, and the nights draw in.
This year the months seems to be flying past. Did I really manage 24 uploads this October? My monthly collage suggests I did.
As my world turns towards winter, I've been trying to record the autumn flowers, leaves and colours! As winter approaches we start to see some wonderfully fiery sunrises, though the trees are not yet displaying their full autumn dresses 😊 November begins with strangely warm temperatures, so the start of the overnight freezing may be delayed. Winter does have it's own beauty - maybe not as colourful as autumn, but just as dazzling!
And here I have replaced my old desktop with a new, faster one - and a 24" display replaces my 15" laptop screen. I am slowly transferring the data - and it's sobering when I look at the mountain of photos yet to be explored and examined. I always love to look back through the month as I saw it last year - or several years ago. So the uploads are a mix of past and present.
As ever - many thanks to everyone who has visited my photostream and for the comments and faves.
All my collages are collected here: At a Glance
May 2018 at a glance: my usual monthly bookmark that divides up the seamless flow of the Flickr photostream into manageable chunks.
And May has been a big surprise here in the north-east corner of Scotland. It has been years since we have had such a warm and dry May! Evenings are now spent hosing down the garden, it's been so long since it rained! Not good for Flickr time, sadly - but we haven't missed the evening TV much ;o)
It has also meant visits to some of our favourite haunts, plenty of photos taken, but not much time to process them as yet!
I've been following the colours of the "Life is a Rainbow" group where the colour changes every 4 weeks - this month the colour was mainly turquoise, and now it is red. So the background of my collage is reflecting the colour shift. And I am working on red images for June! I hope that it is a sign that June will continue the warm dry weather too - but with a few (just a few) nights of gentle rain!!

Summary...
In the way back, a good photograph came out.
