(All part of my plan to saturate Boston with images of wierd sandcastles, my cat, and stuff i notice in Harvard Yard puddles...)
I cant believe a whole year has gone by since I posted my first photo to this group last year and now here I go again. I am really looking forward to seeing old and new members photos throughout the year, its a super little group and big thanks again to the fab administrators who work so hard running it for us, its much appreciated. Happy New Year everyone. :-)
Its been a long time coming, and after my today upload on nexus, I decided not to add anything on nexus, never again...
The reason is the new site re-design which turned out to be even worse than I could have ever imagined.
What the problem exactly?
For example, you upload something, and not even you as the author of the content, you cannot see your own work... not to mention that is also not visible for other users... content is simply not there, missing from the public pages... then after an hour or two it is visible again for like 15 min, then it is hidden again, and so on and on.
What's the point of sharing something, if no one can see it?
Of course, I had no choice but to delete the set myself :)
I just asked for candy, and teddy bears, and to throw the darts, and ride the rides, and....

These slices were cut from a beef shank muscle which is found at the central part of the calf.
The beef shank muscles in thick slices are used in a classic Italian dish, Osso Bucco.
In Chinese cooking, the shank muscles are cut into thin slices and dipped briefly in boiling water or soup. It is eaten with a variety of sauces.

66304 dives into Parsons Tunnel with 66301 on the sea wall at Teignmouth with the 0747 Devonport to Crewe nuclear waste from the latest nuclear sub refit. Interestingly only one flask was on this trip when two arrived two months ago. I think we will have a second bite of this cherry shortly hopefully in better weather.
I was planning on taking this shot a little further afield but due to the uncertainties with the weather I went for the old faithful.

Tonight was the first time I read from my new novel. For over a year I have been sending in portions of chapters to an organization in the city that hosts a once-a-month reading and also publishes what's read. I have gotten rejection after rejection, but nice ones that encouraged me to keep submitting my work, saying that the show they put together is theme-based and my work didn't match the theme. So, while in Alabama I got an email saying I had been selected to read this Monday night. I am proud of myself because I kept sending out my work month-after-month and it paid off. I am also proud of myself because I suffer from stage fright and I got up and read in front of a roomful of strangers. I want to get over this fear because it takes the joy out of reading my work like this. I think I did better tonight than I ever have, so yay me! And also, when I got home I realized that I was probably the oldest person there but that didn't bother me at all. So I'm really thankful that I did this!!
