I converted the pictures of this series to black and white. But a few of them I processed in color, just out of curiosity.

The building known as 'The Study', stands in a picturesque corner of the town beside the Market Cross. On plan it is L-shaped and consists of a main block of two storeys and attics, with crow-stepped gables, while a stair-wing projecting from the southern wall, in alignment with the west gable, is carried up a storey higher and has a crow-stepped gabled roof free from the main roof.

The Old Malt House, Markyate, Hertfordshire. Before the coming of the railway, the village was an important stop for everybody travelling between London and the Midlands. There were hotels and dozens of pubs and brew houses (such as this one). What is left today are three pubs and their survival is not guaranteed.

Funky kinda outfit, classic kinda pose. Its a study in blue!

I brought this guitar for $150 in a second hand instrument shop in Melbourne in 2001. I then carried it all around Australia, New Zealand, back to the UK, here and there. Always in a soft case. It has stood up to it well. It is not a well known brand, but I love the sound and the playability of it. Currently, it is on hand for my study breaks...

Studies in Oil

Late February in the sunshine. Hazel tree flowers; the male catkin and the smaller female ‘bud-like’ flower. Also on the same twig, the leaf bud.

Seen at The Knapp & Papermil, a Worcestershire Wildlife Trust reserve.

It has been rather mild lately considering that it is still winter and so Tofu has spent more time outside again. Yesterday he followed me when I went out do to some garden work. The garden is a mess at the moment but that doesn't bother Tofu as long as his feathered friends are around.

Treating a flower like a person means to take a portrait shot. This image was created by shooting through a frame (lead in this case) and by using five LED spotlights in various positions. I had to go indoors as there is currently too much wind outside. Processed in Fujifilm's raw converter and macOS High Sierra photo editor.

Thanks to Karol for all the interesting information which I copied here: ".... a splendid Gothic palace named La Conciergerie built under King Philip the Fair, later transformed into a revolutionary prison. "

about the history of this building:"La Conciergerie built under King Philip the Fair, later transformed into a revolutionary prison.“

During my education I went twice on a week-long study trip to Paris with the class. The first trip was in 1974.

I had my first SLR camera , an Asahi Pentax SP II which I bought second hand from my long time and hardly saved pocket money, and only one slide film roll with 36 exposures with me! My pocket money wasn't enough for more.

The film material has suffered a lot over the years, but I only have a small selection here for those friends who are interested in seeing what it was like in Paris at the time.

I took the photo with an analogue Asahi Pentax SP II (M42) camera and slide film, then scanned with a Nikon Coolscan LS 40ED film scanner

DE:
