my first ever session at a studio, be kind.
Light below bouncing off black background with blue gel, glasses resting on black perspex (sorry not sure of light type/power)
I noticed this was the d2x image ( I used both cameras) but the d200 is identical but I will repost.
So the studio is nearly complete. Its been 2 and a half months and a lot of work. But it's looking pretty sweet. There will be lots more photos posted soon... and lots more of these self portraits too I'm sure.
I love vintage boxes from chinatown. Years ago, I would spot them while searching for chinatown treasures, and the shopkeepers would usually given them to me - I think that they thought that i was just some crazy white girl! Months later they were on to me, and they would charge me 50 cents per box or so. Now when i go to chinatown, most shops have their old boxes on the shelves for sale for several dollars each! But I still love them and usually will buy 1 or 2 as a treat for myself.
Another photo of our guest room/studio. It's small, but forces me to keep it neat.
Somehow, I manage to keep all of my craft supplies in here for drawing, painting, sewing. I keep my quilling paper strips on the wall behind the green tray.

Some new work with the lovely Tosha. We shot a few looks in the studio and these are a few of my favorites. Love her hair and smile - Tosha was super comfortable in front of the camera and made my job super easy. Here's to more shoots in the future!

Creative Look Studio located in Winnipeg's old hippie neighborhood, Wolseley. One of my old oddball restaurants, Mrs. Lipton's, was located on the corner and an old fire hall, now a condo, is across the street.
Keith & Jason finally have a place of their own while in town....No more sleeping on Lauren's living room floor!
