Lady with a Parasol, 1870-72
Edgar Degas
In this study of a fashionable woman holding a parasol, Edgar Degas's chief concern seems to be the effect of light on the human figure. Some areas are loosely painted, with the initial charcoal outline still visible. Others, such as the woman's profile and the details of her hat, are treated with great delicacy. An old label on the back of the painting calls it At the Race-course, which may explain the woman’s elegant appearance. Degas left this work unfinished but kept it in the studio until is death.

The students setup small areas and tables so that they could continue their studies while engaging in the protest.
The occupy central movement in Hong Kong brought out a lot of people into the streets. The movement was heavily focused on students. As well, there was some amazing artwork produced during the protest.
Study Tip: Use an appointment book.
If you keep all your appointments, due dates, test dates in your head, you won’t have any room left
for the new information you are learning about in classes. #study #studytip
This boat shed has been made from whatever was handy--wooden shingles, asphalt shingles, plywood etc. The rubber cover for the lock is widely used--cheap and effective. The red tones are very attractive although it's a long while since the shed saw any paint.
A spring 2018 study abroad trip to China helped diplomacy come alive for some Seton Hall students. The group spent time in Shanghai visiting the US Embassy, international businesses, a university, the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, a local family and the offices of the Chinese Communist Party, to name just some of the stops they made.
I'm studying for my third final. I'm ready to die. I made a 103 on my Social Psychology final and a 100 on my English final. I don't really have the heart to study for history, but I'm trying. Its a big struggle. I make A's in philosophy so that final on Friday is in the bag. Pray for me as I try to struggle through tonight.
I don't think you can really tell in this picture how sick I look. If you were to see me in person you can tell I haven't slept since Sunday. Every night I've gotten about an hour or two of sleep. I'm ready for this semester to be over.
I hate school.

IBA - Institute of Business Administration, City Campus, Karachi, Pakistan.
At the time I was at IBA - Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, Pakistan, it was afternoon, the light being very harsh but at the same time creating interesting shadows and patterns. This attracted me to first time turn on the “Noir” effect on my cellphone and shoot these.
I found it quite easy as I could view it in monochrome. I always say doing black and white on film is very difficult.
Trying to learn more about the way Sargent used and mixed color. I am always surprised how low the chroma on many of these colors are. There are just a few notes of high chroma.
I love the way Sargent rims the cheek as it turns with a cool muted green and I was trying to convey that in this study.
