Hand held, three exposure colour bracketed image taken with Panasonic fz38. Processed with photomatix and photoshop elements.
This photo was taken of the roof in Smithfields Market. I liked the way the light lit up the colours inside this listed building
While we were in the Kawarthas, we did a couple hikes through the Silent Lake Provincial Park. I wasn't expecting to see much in the "deep woods" but it turns out that was my favorite part. There were many little water falls, streams and ponds throughout the woods. Great hiking area

It's been a little while since I uploaded any shots. We recently moved from Taipei to Taichung so it has taken sometime to unpack and get everything settled but now that we've moved in and things are finally reaching a little bit more normality posting shouldn't be so far apart.
I've decided to walk around my area to see if I can make sense of this place. The difference between here and Taipei is astounding. There are no cars driving by at every hour of the night, I have seen the sky and stars for the first time in two months and there are actually trees here. Remember those things? Tall, hard, usually a little green in places.
I was excited when I realized there was a river close by our house. The sound of flowing water is one of the most relaxing noises I can think of. After a little searching I was a little disappointed. I was expecting clear waters like what I used to find in Iwate, Japan however this is what I found. This so called river is nothing but a detergent colored, muck filled stream. It would seem that all the companies upstream dump their industrial waste into this particular river. A bit of a shame really, but on the other hand the disgusting water does give off a nice pretty shade of unnatural blue.
