Mictis profana is a species of insect in the family Coreidae known by the common names crusader bug and holy cross bug. It is distributed in Australia, Indonesia, and the Indo-Pacific.

"Strawberry Fields Forever" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. It was released on 13 February 1967 as a double A-side single with "Penny Lane". It represented a departure from the group's previous singles and a novel listening experience for the contemporary pop audience. While the song initially divided and confused music critics and the group's fans, it proved highly influential on the emerging psychedelic genre. Its accompanying promotional film is similarly recognized as a pioneering work in the medium of music video.
Lennon based the song on his childhood memories of playing in the garden of Strawberry Field, a Salvation Army children's home in Liverpool.
Strawberry Field was the name of a Salvation Army children's home close to John Lennon's childhood home in Woolton, a suburb of Liverpool. Lennon and his friends Pete Shotton, Nigel Walley and Ivan Vaughan used to play in the wooded garden behind the home. One of Lennon's childhood treats was the garden party held each summer in Calderstones Park, near the home, where a Salvation Army brass band played.
Captured @ Strawberry Fields NYC. It was a treat to finally make it to this place. Its the closest in my life i could get to the legend. As a kid, i had john lennon albums. I use to play one particular album every night when i would fall asleep. Needless to say, He is pretty rootin in my sub-consciencous... The moment i got here, the light was ripping through the trees and lighting this perfectly. Is the sun were any lower it would have been blocked by the buildings , i made it just in time...

I don't know if I'll have time for a self portrait for 365 tomorrow, so here's this. I might delete it though. I'm not crazy bout it, but I like the sense of serenity and secret garden feel to it. I'll wait until when I get up to decide though. It's not good to make major flickr changes when you're exhausted.

This is a shot I’ve been wanting to get for a couple years now. I wish it was a little closer, with more detail, but at this altitude you get a really cool pattern in the field and workers.
I'm getting behind in my comments, but not in viewing and appreciating your lovely recent posts... I'm completely lost in my writing (this pic is an off-shoot) and must stay lost for a while!

It wasn't until I was taking some bracketed shots of the old grain bins across on the other side of the blacktop that I realized that the fields had been planted with strawberries instead of corn. I've walked across these fields a couple of times last winter and found plenty of deer tracks... I can envision a dozen deer walking down the rows together munching away as the strawberries ripen. But wouldn't it be great if the farmer sold strawberries to those of us that wanted to pick them fresh off the pants?
This is another HDR image made by processing a set of three bracketed shots (one underexposed, one normal and one overexposed shot).
UPDATE: A fellow photographer pointed out that these plants may actually be soybeans! Strawberries sound a lot more exciting, though, don't they?!!! :D
