Each summer the Greenland icesheet calves massive amounts of ice into the Davis Strait. As the icebergs move thousands of kilometers southward into the North Atlantic, many are diverted by wind and weather into Cumberland and Frobisher bays. A rare few find themselves in the strait between Broughton and Baffin island.

The waters to the east of the small Aegean archipelago of Fournoi may look beautiful, but this is a treacherous passage for ships. Under the waters in the photo lurks the biggest ancient ship graveyard yet discovered by archaeologists.
