this one was made by a friend for me on my birthday....my first b'day in college...missing those hands that sketch so effortlessly... :)
Today's story and sketch by me, #1401 is another story about ghosts arriving here on this Tropical Volcanic Planet we call Budahunga. Last evening another Ghost, and an apparition in the form of a Scarecrow arrived, along with what seems to be a dead or nearly dead ancient oak tree. Deputy Oroski just arrived on scene and will momentarily squirt the ghost and scarecrow with The Rescue Randy, silver nitrate, and Budahunga Tar solution, which will turn them into mere lumps of dirty laundry. Sadly Dirty Laundry, Scarecrows and the ancient Oak tree will be stories to follow up another time, until then Tata the Rod Blog.

Another one from last night featuring the Story Bridge lit up for Italian Week... this time a panorama made by stitching five HDR images
I have a ton of film that needs to be developed so that will probably happen next week or so. Until then, enjoy the rest of my purple shots!

Well this was actually one of my original ideas for the Teleidoscope once upon a time theme, however i thought it was too literal and stayed away from it. However i enjoyed the idea of it so much i thought i would give it a go anyway. :)
It also gave me an opportunity to try out some tutorials and learn a little more in photoshop which i am pleased about. I just wish i could add more to it as it is looking a little bare!
Anyway i am going to be away from home the next few days and busy for new year so i wont be able to upload anything for the rest of the week but i will still be looking at what you all upload! Now be safe and enjoy the rest of your week! :)

This Yazidi girl was sold to several men in the three years of imprisonment under Daesh, but she managed to escape in a daring way around Mosul, where she was used as a human shield during the final battle. It’s really hard to tell the suffering of Yazidi people. When I met these little women and listened to their terrible stories, I were literally paralyzed.
This sweet little pickup is in a nice museum in Savery, Wyoming. I have included it's story, which is taped in the window. Crosley was a small, independent American automotive manufacturer which produced amny models from 1939-1952.

This derelict building looks like it has been partially repaired. Maybe once a mission school? There's a swimming pool in the courtyard (pix on my blog), and maybe there was once a balcony along the outside? How many people have used this building over the years since it was built, and why does it look this way now?

Yesterday i saw some familiar faces that I have seen every year for 4 years now at Fantasy Faire with Children of Stories.
And it was also the first time my clogs were at the fair, I was so excited!
Lots of stores, but not only that, behind all that, there are also games, evenings, discovery workshops, quests and much more!
This year, a fox outfit (really beautiful!) is present at the Kiosk Relay For Life.
To support the American Cancer Society’s vision of a world without cancer.
The story is just beginning and here is a tiny piece of it...
Started to tell the true story of the great drought. "The Sphynx was no hero! The Lindworm was a creature of solitude, but an ally who comforted the sick and the lame. They received peace under his grace, and mercy away from war like tribes of Earth.

Lots of people, lots of stories. Remembering a sunny hot afternoon now that the early snow starts to fly. Kensington Market is the eclectic heart of Toronto Canada.
What a difference a day makes. This is what "Isles of the mist" location on Loch Garry, shown in the last four scenes, looked like the following day, with no direct sun, no mist, though still reflecting.. As flat as a pancake.
(Actually, here on digital, after a tweak to contrast in "curves", it looks a LOT better than the original slide ever did!)
However, the photo isn't the only thing that's feeling "flat". In fact I'm feeling rather sick at the moment, like, "This would be a good time to give up photography altogether"!
What happened? Well, this evening, I "Upgraded" my catalog backup in Lr Classic 9. (It's been telling me to do it for a while.) There's a big warning with it , "This operation Cannot be undone!" Also, it tells you to ensure you have made a recent backup.. Well I back up 3-4 times a week so, no problem there. Right? WRONG!
I never actually opened those backup folders to see what was in them, I just assumed when I clicked on "Back up now" it was backing up everything.. Now I find that from the time I went "Adobe subscription Lr", nothing since that date has backed up. Updating the backup has deleted those 18 months of work! That must be close to 2,000 hours worth!
I know everything more recent really has gone, because it now accepts imports from anything later, which it wouldn't do if they were still in the catalogue.
(I'm keeping things in perspective though, especially at this time with C-19, when FAR more serious losses are happening for many people.)
Thank goodness the original pictures/files are safe, but all my grading and processing from that date, appears to have completely gone.

I chose this picture for the front cover of a future book on the Vietnamese people, a story of labor hands and kind faces.
"Members of 54 ethnic minority groups officially recognized in Vietnam make up 15 percent of the country’s population but account for around 70 percent of the extreme poor." Who really cares?

Thank you for viewing my images! Enjoy a lovely day!
I had a chance to watch a debate on "Bottle Feeding vs BreastFeeding". It was interesting that both sides pointed out the advantages.
I heard many good things that breastfeeding benefits to both Mother and Baby.
I can remember my Mother and My Wife said "I breastfed and I'm proud of it"
I'm happy to be a part of the story.

Sunrise on West Beach at #Berneray, Outer Hebrides. Around every cove at this early hour was a scene, moment or a story to tell. Whilst no expert I kept my landscape bag always close to hand. Here I've used a Lee 10 x stop filter + 0.6 ND soft grad, 71 seconds at f18 with a Nikon 24-70 F2.8G.

and so it came to pass
as things do
that i was awakened once more
there were tales
there were stories
there were adventures
great loves
greater loss
so many stories
so many words
rushing
pushing
struggling
to get out
to be free
and so
i was awakened
once again.
have i ever slept?
