This was the last thing on Rt 66 in Oklahoma before crossing the Texas/Okla state line. However, In our case it was the first stop as we were coming from Texas into Oklahoma

In the Netherlands, everything along the coast is flat. In Normandy, from Le Havre heading NE for 100km+ is all white cliffs. I think it's gorgeous. Earth just stops and then... sea!

Last winter
It began like a horror B-movie: one wrong turn and we were suddenly inside Lærdalstunnelen (the longest road tunnel in the world, and we really had no idea)
Midway through, a police officer stepped out and stopped us - no other cars, no explanation, and he didn’t speak a word of English. Just silence and tunnel hum (and me, claustrophobic).
Then something emerged from the darkness… a maintenance vehicle.
The officer waved us on, and ten minutes later we were back in the daylight - the best happy end ever.
A katydid stopped for a rest on my front door. This is SOOC except for some minimal cropping. He stayed on the door for at least 20 minutes while people went in and out of the door at least three times.

The cormorant had been fussing with the fish, dropping back into the water when the GBH swooped down, dove into the water and came up with the fish. Apparently Herons aren’t only wading hunters.
