I had to pull over to get a few pictures of this beast. About 50 miles south of Fallon, Nevada on US-95. By the time I reached the summit of Mount Montgomery at over 7,000 feet the snow was coming down hard. Fortunately, I only had about 10 miles of nasty weather, a hard blowing snow storm. Then as I dropped down into California I was past the worst of it. As difficult as winter driving can be, I love the wildness of these storms, photographically anyway.

A katydid stopped for a rest on my front door. This is SOOC except for some minimal cropping. He stayed on the door for at least 20 minutes while people went in and out of the door at least three times.

Mammatus clouds/storm at sunset, high plains of northeast New Mexico. Shot pretty quickly after pulling off the paved highway and onto a gravel crossroad. The raindrops were already starting to fall - cold and heavy. I stepped out of my vehicle, took this shot, and I bailed!

La preciosa Ruta del Cares (en los Picos de Europa, entre León y el Principado de Asturias) es el recorrido senderista más conocido, posiblemente, de toda la Península Ibérica. Nació para el mantenimiento del canal de alimentación de la central hidroeléctrica de Camarmeña - Poncebos, en diversos trabajos durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. Ruta realizada partiendo de Caín de Valdeón (León) hasta Poncebos (Asturias), siempre junto a la orilla del río Cares, atravesando grutas, puentes y caminos esculpidos en la roca. Su longitud es de aproximadamente 11 kms.
