Hosted by Oberlin College’s Black Scientists Guild and the Black History Month Committee, STEM in Color highlighted the academic and career journeys of black professionals, alumni, and current students in STEM fields.

The School of Science, Engineering, and Technology at Penn State Harrisburg hosted a STEM Program for high school juniors and seniors.

"Flowerpots held together represent a line, a mark on the wall, like a felt pen on paper. The cable held pots lend themselves to simple curved shapes just like seedlings growing out from the soil. It's that energy of growth and unfurling of structures that the marks echo."

I'm trying to get back into photography lately. I figured I should start by playing with my camera again and thinking about the ways I like too shoot pictures and brush back up on my editing skills. These are mostly just practice so I can get back into the swing of things.

Careers in the global workforce of the future will rely heavily upon preparation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. So the University of Hartford's College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP) and its community partners — Hartford Public Schools, Saint Francis Care, East Hartford Public Schools, West Hartford Public Schools, and the Connecticut Science Center — sponsored the 2014 Connecticut STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Conference at the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford on Oct. 6.
