This 28-70mm f/2.8L is the ish, the main reason I uploaded this is because I'mm in love with how sharp and detailed it can shoot such small things (such as the hairs on the stems of sunflowers. When being at 100% crop is still unbelievably sharp.

This is watershed moment in my woodworking craft. Up til now, construction was achieved using power tools. canoes though, are curved and power tools can not necessarily be used in in curvy applications. This is where the artistic side of a craftsman has to come out.

This marks my first experience with a spokeshave. A spokeshave is basically a plane with two extending handles. Its used to plane wood where curves exist.

I honed the blade before beginning. I used a 1000 grit Japanese waterstone for the primary bevel and a 4000 grit stone for the secondary bevel. The end result was a razor sharp blade that easily carved through the ash stem.

The use of hand tools is almost spiritual. You start to work on and develop a talent, you didn't realize you have. I can now appreciate the feeling and artist or sculptor gets, while creating a work of art.

The Rando frame accepts a quill stem, so I could have gone with a much simpler looking fixed-angle stem (common on "ten-speeds" of the 80s and 90s), but I rather like the look of VO's threadless stem, and the flexibility to have a higher bar for a more casual ride position. This 90mm 17-degree stem is attached to a VO Threadless Stem Adaptor.
