Another interesting statue seen in Koblenz Germany.
Peter Schneider, a hawker who walked from door to door trying to sell braces, laces and newspapers.
His nickname comes from a certain disease he suffered from; a form of neuropathy which affected his way of walking, causing strange looking movements of his limbs.
People were reminded of caoutchouc and therefore named him 'rubber'.
A statue of Queen Victoria stands in front of the National Library of Malta in Republic Square, Valletta, Malta. Sculpted out of marble by the Sicilian artist Giuseppe Valenti, the statue depicts the Queen sitting down and wearing a shawl of Maltese lace. It was installed in the square on 5 August 1891.
Had to go here for this shot! It was hot and cloudy, almost like Texas weather. But the Lady isn't in Texas :)

A statue of the great Armenian musicologist, composer, and folk music collector, the celibate priest (or vardapet) Komitas. The sculptor was Yervand Kochar and it was unveiled in 1969.
Komitas survived the Armenian Genocide only to spend his last years not only in exile, but in a Paris mental asylum.
This is a statue in the center of Durham. I loved the way the light caught it so I couldnt resist taking a photo. When playing around in Photomatix I thought this one made a good HDR photo.
Recently almost made it into the hall of fame in You vs. the Best. This photo beat 3 challengers and was pipped on the 4th. Better luck next time...
