In life it's often the most beautiful things that last the least amount of time. And this certainly applies to flowers. My Stargazer Lilies blossomed and disappeared in a matter of just a few weeks. The scent from them was intoxicating. Thankfully, they do reappear each year. This is my second year of delight from them.

Lilium Oriental hybrid -- Lilium orientalis - 'Stargazer'
They are also called “starburst lilies,” “starlight lilies,” or just “Stargazers.”
The last blooms on our Stargazer Lilly. These have been the best we have had, also the fragrance has been wonderful too.
Lilium 'Stargazer' (the 'Stargazer lily') is a hybrid lily developed for commercial purposes with an emphasis on coloring and perfume.
Purchased at the florist near home.
I got this shot the day I met up with Sharon and we visited three gardens around the Brooks-Salem area...
It wasn't just the stars my friend here was gazing at this night. The auroras made a faint but nice display in front of the Milky way, and just below the green band of auroras in the middle of this picture you can see the Andromeda galaxy.
I thought all the lilies in our garden were finished, but I'd forgotten about this one.

Stargazer scented Lilly, bought this one for Jennifer, she can't see it, but can smell the fragrance.
Stargazer' Lily a beauty I found in Long Beach, WA Lots of fun on our rainy gloomy days to have something to smile about.

The Stargazer Lily is so vivid in its colours, yet has very subtle hues as well. I find the interior very intricately detailed with many textures, shapes, lines and amazing nuances. It is always intriguing to ponder the complexities and exquisitness of nature.
Last year's flowers. Waiting to see this beauty again !
