Tech Note 1: The image consists of a single, highly processed photographic exposure. (There is no superposition of elements from other exposures.)
Tech Note 2: The image results from inverse-linear processing ("ILP") in Lightroom. ILP begins with inverting the Tone Curve (by setting it to fall from the upper left-hand corner to the the lower right-hand corner). In ILP the sense of most, but not all, Lightroom controls invert. Proficiency in ILP requires patience and experimentation, but the results can reveal extraordinary imagery hidden in otherwise lackluster exposures.
"The world class, heritage windows are a memorial to Australian and British prisoners of war who died in Sabah – at Sandakan, Ranau or on the death marches – during 1942-1945, and a thanksgiving to the local people who risked, and gave, their lives to help them. A total of 2428 POWs (of whom 1787 were Australian) died at Sandakan or on one of the infamous death marches to Ranau, the bulk of them in 1945. Only six Australians who escaped, survived. All 641 British POWs perished. Many of the prisoners, who were transferred from Singapore by ship, spent the night in the church before marching to the Sandakan compound, 12 kilometres away." The sunlight filtered through the stained glass pillars being the Catholic cathedral in Liverpool.
I tried lots of shots of getting the sun in the glass directly, but it's this one of the reflections that appeals to me currently - it's not trying to hard, and you get to appreciate the colours without needing to see the reason.

The thought of being a mom and seeing your daughter get the most toughest stain on her brand new party dress for her big birthday party. After you spent so much money on that dress. You save every last penny because your little girl had to look perfect! She was until during her own party, she is shoved from behind into the plate of someone elses plate of spaghetti! Leaving the most massive stain you ever seen! All over her brand new dress! devastated and horrified, you are in shock when you see her dress ruined from the stain. You start to hear people and friends whisper and talk about how embarrassing and mortified you are and how that dress is ruined! Its a mom's horror story!
The Chapel, part of National Park Seminary, a former Inn then girls finishing school then college. Now restored and re-purposed into apartments, condos and housing.
On Chicago's Navy Pier, there is a nice (and free) stained glass museum with lots to see and try and photograph! This is a small detail of a large window. The pieces in this shot are feathers in an angel's wing.
I noticed this part of a stained glass window in Sarratt church the other day. The whole window is beautiful but I especially liked the geometric style of this part of it. I think it is a lovely composition. It is a relatively new window dated from the early 1900's.
This is from a quick spur-of-the-moment trip to Cooks Creek last Sunday. I arrived at the church shortly before closing to the public so I only had time for a few shots.
