Freiburg Münster
Das Freiburger Münster „Unserer Lieben Frau“ ist heute zugleich Pfarrkirche der Dompfarrei und die Kathedrale der Erzdiözese Freiburg. Darüber hinaus ist das Münster ein nationales Kulturdenkmal mit dem „schönsten Turm auf Erden“ und gehört zu den wenigen gotischen Großkirchenbauten, die noch im Mittelalter vollendet wurden und die zahlreichen Kriege nahezu unversehrt überstanden.
Der Name Münster kommt vom lateinischen monasterium (Kloster). Damit war keine Pfarrkirche gemeint, sondern ein Sakralbau als Teil eines Klosters oder Stifts (Stiftskirche).
Im 13. Jahrhundert entwickelte sich daraus die Bedeutung einer großen Kirche, so dass in Süddeutschland und angrenzenden Gebieten fortan auch Bischofskirchen und einige große Stadtpfarrkirchen unter den Begriff „Münster“ fielen.

This window is in a local United Methodist Church. It is a side window and very high off the ground, thus the low vantage point. It is located in Lancaster County, Virginia.

In St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery Church in the Vienna Central Cemetery. The window was created in 1911 by the Jugendstil artist Leopold Forstner.
This beautiiful broad bodied chaser was perched on a very high stick, a long way away through thick bramble. I didn't have a long lens with me and was wearing shorts. Ouch. My husband thought I was mad...but the light through the wings was just so gorgeous!!
