Committed a couple of hours work to my buttons!

One of my newer Stacker bracelets. I just love the pewter button I used. I kept one for stamping clay.

My dad found it and made sure to give it to me. It was already dead so I did a focus stack of it.

I stacked this before setting off on a 10 mile round-trip hike to the New Dungeness Lighthouse. I knew there were way too many little kids about for me to expect it to last long. It was well and truly scattered by the time we got back.

since the ip before last, which asked for stacks, I've been seeing stacks everywhere.

I'm testing various papers, dyed with plants and rusty stuff. This shows the heavy texture on the papers - the folds are set in, many of the papers are heavily embossed by whatever was clamped between the pages. The most embossed are the XL bristol, Arches 90 lb hp watercolor paper. The text wove is not as heavily embossed, but it might with thicker materials, it's a strong paper when wet. The super fine text is somewhat embossed, but is not at all strong when wet. The grid paper did surprisingly well.

The papers were torn into 3 x 12 inch strips, folded into four-page accordions. Mostly fresh plants from our garden. The eucalyptus leaves and pods are old and dried up. I also used some small rusty objects in some. Each photo shows the front and back. I stacked the papers and plants into bundles and clipped them together between can lids or squares of brass and binder clips. They were immersed in a strong, simmering solution of Lipton's tea for an hour. In places you can see the circular shape from the can lid.

This kind of tightly packed designed fabric makes stacked octagons that are different, but not knock-your-socks-off different. What it does really well is hide seams as in the border blocks in the lower left picture. Those blocks have a lot of seams in the pansy fabric, but the seams hardly show.

A hay stacking operation typical of the early 1900s, when horsepower was used to move hay from the field, and to hoist bundles to the top of a hay stack. A derrick outfitted with ropes and pulleys enabled workers to raise large stacks. Considerable skill was required to build a stack that would shed rain without falling apart.

South Stack is famous as the location of one of Wales' most spectacular lighthouses, South Stack Lighthouse. It has a height of 41 metres (135 feet). It has a maximum area of 7 acres.

Until 1828 when an iron suspension bridge was built, the only means of crossing the deep water channel on to the island was in a basket which was suspended on a hemp cable. The suspension bridge was replaced in 1964, but by 1983 the bridge had to be closed to the public, due to safety reasons. A new aluminium bridge was built and the lighthouse was reopened for public visits in 1997. Thousands of people flock to the lighthouse every year, thanks to the continued public transport service from Holyhead's town centre.

There are over 400 stone steps down to the footbridge (and not, as local legend suggests, 365), and the descent and ascent provide an opportunity to see some of the 4,000 nesting birds that line the cliffs during the breeding season. The cliffs are part of the RSPB South Stack Cliffs bird reserve, based at Elin's Tower.

The Anglesey Coastal Path passes South Stack, as does the Cybi Circular Walk. The latter has long and short variants; the short walk is 4 miles long and takes around two hours to complete. Travelling from the Breakwater Country Park, other sites along the way are the North Stack Fog Signal station, Caer y Tŵr, Holyhead Mountain and Tŷ Mawr Hut Circles.
