Recently got the SSS Sketch Tulip Bouquet stamp and die set as well as some Nuvo Aqua Flow watercolor pens. I used two of the pens to color the tulips. I also got some of the Picket Fence life changing brushes. Don't know if they have changed my life, but they sure do blend distress oxide inks beautifully! Adding this to the current SSS flickr challenge, as well as the SSS Wednesday challenge. The sentiments are from the SSS Mom Flowers stamp set.

I have not played along with a SSS flickr challenge in ages. Since I used the SSS Ornate Ornaments stamp and die set from last year, as well as a sentiment from a now retired SSS set to create this Christmas card I would enter this in the current challenge. I did simple watercoloring with my ZIGs for this one.

The Challenge for the SSSFlickrChallenge#28 is to use Embossed Resist. So many options within that technique! I tried my hand at some "Ink Smooshing." I used to avoid anything "messy," but this technique is growing on me! Using acetate to transfer the ink gives you a little more control. I tried a few different twists... doing all 3 ink colors at once on my craft mat, vs one at a time without drying each color, vs drying each color before applying the next. The one laying flat was on normal CS, whereas the others were on watercolor paper. I used very little water on the one on regular CS, so it's much bolder.
Also entering this into the SSS Monday Challenge as Ink Smooshing MIGHT be moving toward a favorite technique. And lastly, entering into the SSS Wednesday Challenge of Die Crazy with the heart accents and the stitched rectangle dies.

The patterned papers in @simonsaysstamp June kit are so pretty. For this card, I used a background stamp (Modern Blooms) from a previous Simon kit that is the perfect complement. I heat embossed it with @heroarts White Satin Pearl. I'm entering this card in Simon's Flickr and Wednesday challenges.

Have you ever found a stamp that packs a punch?
I think the centre cut hexagon stamp from Simon is indeed one of those stamps and I can’t wait to try out some other ways to use it.
For the current Flickr challenge, I used the centre of the stamp and coloured it thrice. The thanks frame die fits in perfectly!
Made this Shaker card with the Critter Crowd stamp set from Simon Says. Always fun to make a Shaker !!Adding this to the Simon Says Flickr Challenge and the Love Handmade cards Challenge.

When I got the Holiday Words background stamp I was really intrigued by the ability to isolate words from the backgrouind to create different looks. For this card I isolated Merry Christmas, inked it up in red and then stamped. I then covered up those words, inked up the rest in green and stamped it. Added the small sentiments and a few litlte buttons to finish the card. Adding this to the SSS flickr challenge and the SSS Wednesday challenge

I made this card for my green-eyed granddaughter with long brown hair who is turning 12. This card will be entered into the SSSflickrchallenge#5. On the background I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink. On the bottom I used Chipped Sapphire, then going up, Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass. I drew the girl, colored her with Tombow brush pens and cut her out. The ice cream stamp is Simon Says Stamp Ice Cream Dream. I embossed the cone with bronze embossing powder and colored it with a Vintage Photo distress marker from T.H.. After cutting it out, I used embossing paste mixed with color from Tombow brush pens for the ice cream scoops. Sugar Cube glitter from Martha Stewart was sprinkled on top while the paste was wet. The cherry from the stamp set was colored, then brushed with clear Wink of Stella. It was adhered to the top ice cream with gel medium. After everything was dry, I put Glossy Accents on the cherry. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID! At first I glued the cherry on top, applied Wink of Stella, then Glossy Accents. The color ran! It looked like maraschino cherry juice on top. I didn't like this, so I had to redo the top scoop and cherry. The Happy Birthday die is by SSStamp. I cut out 3 and glued one on top of the other. To dot the "i" in Birthday, I used the Holiday Shapes from SSStamp. For the flower at the girl's waist, I punched out 3 mini flowers from Punch Bunch, colored, then stacked and glued the centers together, curling up the petals. After making all the above, I adhered the background to white Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock. All the pieces were glued on and I decided to make confetti. Again I used Tombow brush pens to color white cardstock, then used a hole punch. After using gel medium to clue on the confetti, I added clear Wink of Stella to each one. I am pleased the way the card turned out.

Day One. Are you ready? It's the first day of Kathy Racoosin's new Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Even if you are busy gathering your nuts for the winter, you can find 30 minutes each day to stop and color something. Oh, and treat yourself to a Pumpkin Latte while you're at it...you deserve it! The stamp and sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's and Neat and Tangled's exclusive Stamptember set, "Nuts About You." The stripe is from Avery Elle's "Beautiful Bow" set. It was watercolored with my beloved Distress Inks and the gold flecked dots are "Honey Gold" Nuevo Drops. This is also for the SSSflickrchallenge#57.
