The Record Rack opened in 1959 and closed after Hurricane Rita in 2005.
In it's heyday The Record Rack was regarded as the premier retail "record shop" in the Texas Golden Triangle (Beaumont,Port Arthur,Orange). It was well stocked with LPs,45s,Cassettes and CDs. They featured Country,Rock,Blues,Soul,Rap,Hip Hop,Comedy,Classical and Jazz. The Record Rack was also a great resource for Cajun music LPs and 45s. They also offered special orders for material not in stock. According to locals the Record Rack closed not long after Hurricane Rita hit the Texas Gulf Coast in 2005. Beaumont,Texas. 5.8.2016.
I made this pencil case especially for a sweet client. I love it's happy back- to- school optimism. And the best part is that I salvaged some scraps to make it!

(much like the crazy large pendants my aunt in guadalajara
wore in the 60s and 70s..i'll try to dig up some photos..)

I was so pleased with this portrait of Mike and his beloved bear Ted, taken on holiday in 2021, that I decided to get a wooden puzzle made for Mike's birthday just before Christmas.
I was happy that Wentworth made such a splendid job of reproducing the photo (the additional gift wrapping was perfect too!), and Mike was thrilled to receive a truly unique jigsaw showing him in his favourite holiday location with his little pal. A good selection of birthday-themed whimsies (chosen instead of holiday-themed ones as they seemed more appropriate) made it the ideal gift for the man who has everything!

In case yer wond'rin', that's a mask on me chin cuz I wuzzn't takin' no chances last yeer durin' Covid!

A 1951 Vincent Black Shadow (special order) ordered in 1950 by Frank Taylor to race in the 1951 Isle of Man Clubmans TT. Both the bike and F Taylor attended the TT but this machine wasn't raced for some reason. The bike was unearthed in 2010 amongst a pile of British bikes and spares. An extensive restrestoration was carried out between 2010 and 2016. On display at the International Classic Motorcycle Show 2023 in Stafford.
This is not a fabulous photo, but I just wanted to announce that I can FINALLY cross something off of my never ending TO DO list!! The list is ridiculous... and gets longer by the day.
I got a wonderful order on Etsy.com for 50 lavender filled sachets from a nice woman that wants them for favors for her Mom's 85th birthday party. We went back and forth for a couple of months ironing out the details and this week I was determined to finish... and I DID!!! YEY! I can cross one thing off the list!!!
I was paid for them this morning and they were in the mail this afternoon! I hope she will be pleased with them. Etsy is the BEST place to find te most unique gifts!! If you don't know Etsy.... acquaint yourself! But, I will warn you.... its addiciting (kind of like Flickr!) ; )
