The Space Shuttle Discovery OV-103 is the third fully operational orbiter to be built, first flying on August 30, 1984 and continuing for 27 years, with 39 flights, gathering more spaceflights than any other spacecraft to date. The Discovery was used to launch the Hubble Space Telescope as well as the Ulysses probe and three TDRS satellites. It flew the first "Return To Flight" following both the Challenger and Columbia disasters. In 1988 STS-95 flew John Glenn into space, the oldest person to do so. The Space Shuttle Discovery had traveled 238 million km in 39 missions, completed 5830 orbits, and spent 365 days in orbit over 27 years. It was decommissioned in 2011 and is now the star attraction of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.

April 6, 1982: Columbia was being ferried from White Sands NM to Florida and stopped at Barksdale AFB to refuel. They opened the base to let folks get up kinda close. I was out of work because of the oil glut of 1982 so Thad's mom let him cut school to go see it with me. They even did a fly by after they took off.

A lineup of my finished characters for Character Design homework, I wanted to do a space-western kind of background for them :)
So the main characters are Dalton, Lady, and Thaddeus. They go on adventures on a space ship? I dunno haha. Dalton is the leader of the group, he's got a complex because of his height and is really confrontational and headstrong, but he's got good intentions. Lady is an alien with a knife specialty (she can throw them around by manipulating her personal gravitational field but skldajhflkjsd let's not get into that), her name isn't really Lady but she's got some weird-ass alien name that no one can pronounce so they call her that. Thaddeus is the engineer, he was a successful businessman that retired with loads of money, but got really bored doing nothing so took up tinkering and ended up being good at it. They don't actually pay him to ride along with them, he can support himself and just likes the adventure.
Cyllus is the baddie of the story, he's got a monopoly on all the trade routes and does bad things? He's got it in his head that he's a guy of high class and always wears really expensive suits and such, but he doesn't realize that he's incredibly tacky and ridiculous looking. No one will tell him because he'll probably eat them.
Anyway, so there they are, I really like how they came out!
The Eubalaena is an interplanetary fuel tanker designed and manufactured by Galactic Composites. It can transport a variety of fuel types across the galaxy in the specially-designed, highly-secure tanks in the middle of the vessel.
Usually accompanied by an escort of galactic police interceptor craft.
