The steps and front entrance to Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art, December 2014. This was for the "David Bowie Is" exhibit. I went to this twice and was mesmerized. The first time was a madhouse and the second I basically had the museum to myself.
I never got around to processing this at the time. RIP David Bowie.

The integrated amplifier KA-7150 is an EU version of the same KA-7100 from 1976 by Kenwood. The quite rare 7150 version is realized with a so-called gunmetal faceplate. The alloy of the surface contains a high copper content. So the front appears slightly bronzed noble comparatively to the usual brushed aluminum look.
With an output of 60 watts per channel the very fine sounding amp reaches good pressure with almost all speakers.
The KA-7150 is assigned to the upper middle class of the Kenwood series to 1976-1978. The excellent FET phono section and a two-way (!) loudness switch makes the heavy amp to a special seventies vintage amplifier.

The depots of Sound and Vision are, literally, the foundation of the organization. This archive section of the building has a monumental appearance. Five storeys deep depots offer the visitor an overwhelming sight. Partly caused by the orange glow of the walkways, which spreads through the central hall, but also by the architectural design, like a wedge into the two depots walls split apart. They form a canyon with a bridge made by each visitor, and is undergoing. The shape of the canyon is inspired by the southern European necropolises where deaths mostly buried in walls. Audiovisual equipment is just as dead until it is brought to life in machinery. The depots and archives are the layers -2 to -5. Here are four different climatic zones to include a proper preservation of audiovisual materials protection. The temperature in these areas averages 12, 16, 17 and 19 degrees Celsius with a specific humidity.
A pattern, from the French patron, is a type of theme of recurring events or objects, sometimes referred to as elements of a set of objects. These elements repeat in a predictable manner. It can be a template or model which can be used to generate things or parts of a thing, especially if the things that are created have enough in common for the underlying pattern to be inferred, in which case the things are said to exhibit the unique pattern.
The most basic patterns, called Tessellations, are based on repetition and periodicity. A single template, tile, or cell, is combined with duplicates without change or modification. For example, simple harmonic oscillators produce repeated patterns of movement.

Ahhh...
Ahhh...
Doo, doo, doo, do-doh
Doo, doo, doo, do-doh
Don't you wonder sometimes
'Bout sound and vision
Blue, blue, electric blue
That's the colour of my room
Where I will live
Blue, blue
Pale blinds drawn all day
Nothing to do, nothing to say
Blue, blue
I will sit right down, waiting for the gift of sound and vision
And I will sing, waiting for the gift of sound and vision
Drifting into my solitude, over my head
Don't you wonder sometimes
'Bout sound and vision

The Design Centre, part of the Council for Industrial Design, was a centre in London's Haymarket that was open to the public from 1956 until 1998. It was part of the work of the Design Council that had been set up in 1944 as the Council for Industrial Design, part of a government backed policy to improve the standard of design in the UK. Part of its public education programme included publications (such as the excellent "Design magazine produced from 1949 until 1999) that helped bring to consumers attention what was considered key exemplars of good industrial and product design and what was available that matched such standards, including products that featured in the Council's "Design Index". This is one of a series of late 1960s publications on mostly household subjects such as sound and vision. It includes TV, radio, sound recording and reproduction equipment and explains much jargon as, for example, television moved from 405 lines to 625 lines of definition and black & white to colour. The author was P E M Sharp and the book was designed by Broom Lynne MSIA. The cover photograph, of a hip suburban couple, is by Dennis Hooker and features a Ferrograph 631 tape recorder, a Relosound RB microphone, a Murphy V197U black and white television as well as a Murphy turntable and an HMV FM/AM radio set.
The Design Council still exists but one seldom if ever hears about them - such an educational and information role seems to withered in modern times.
A fantastic organ. The facade is from the baroque era, but the pipes are older (from 1500-something) - and it seems like nothing has been done ever since. I was allowed to try to play it (the first to play it in more than a year - the church has been closed due to restoration after the earthquake). It was a very special experience to play an organ that old .. an organ that Girolamo Frescobaldi (born in Ferrara) most likely has played on! This is what it must have sounded like 500 years ago. Fascinating !!!
