Sonning Lock is a lock and associated weir situated on the River Thames at the village of Sonning near Reading, Berkshire, England. The first lock was built by the Thames Navigation Commission in 1773 and it has been rebuilt three times since then. There is a weir a little upstream at the top of the island where Sonning Backwater separates from the main course of the river.

Situado en el hermoso lago Hoan Kiem en Hanoi el Templo Ngoc Son es un templo chino en honor de otros de los héroes populares del país, el héroe nacional Tran Hung Dao, quien en el s. XII expulso a los invasores mongoles. Construidos a finales del s, XIX para acceder al templo hay que cruzar el espectacular Puente Huc (Puente de Sol Naciente), construcción de madera en forma de pasarela que destaca entre el verdor del parque por su bello color rojo.
Located on the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, the Ngoc Son Temple is a Chinese temple in honor of another of the country's popular heroes, the national hero Tran Hung Dao, who in the s. XII expelled the Mongol invaders. Built at the end of the 19th century to access the temple you have to cross the spectacular Huc Bridge (Bridge of the Rising Sun), a wooden construction in the shape of a walkway that stands out among the greenery of the park for its beautiful red color.

...la fleur du magnolia reçoit son nom en 1703 par le Père Charles Plumier, botaniste du roi Louis XIV. Plumier rend hommage à Pierre Magnol, directeur du jardin botanique de Montpelier à la fin du 17 ème siècle . Le magnolia est originaire de l'Extrême orient, l'Asie centrale, d'Amérique centrale et du nord.
Aujourd'hui largement acclimaté en Europe, le genre de magnolia de la famille de magnoliacées compte 125 espèces d'arbres et d'arbustes. Plante apparue vers la fin du crétacé, le magnolia à réussi de survivre jusqu'à aujourd'hui peut être grâce à la texture vernis de ses feuilles qui le protège de la pollution de nos villes .La première fleur apparue sur terre il y a 100 millions d'années. Les moines bouddhistes le plantaient autour de leur Temple en symbole de la pureté. Aujourd'hui , le magnolia représente l'amour de la nature et la gaieté, fleur pour fêter le printemps. Ils portent des fleurs à la signification profonde; blanches, roses ou pourpres, ces fleurs font partie de l'amour, ils symbolisent l'innocence, le respect, la fidélité la force et la dignité; également la beauté et la joie. Le parfum est souvent décrit comme étant frais, légèrement sucré avec des notes de bergamotes de jasmin et de rose.

Ejemplar de Mielero patirrojo, adulto maduro en plumaje nupcial (Cyanherpes cyaneus) con algunas curiosidades:
El mielero dorsioscuro o mielero patirrojo (Cyanerpes cyaneus) es una pequeña ave de la familia Thraupidae. Se distribuye en los trópicos del Nuevo Mundo, desde el sur de México hasta Perú, Bolivia, el centro de Brasil y las Guayanas. También en Trinidad y Tobago, y en Cuba, isla donde posiblemente haya sido introducido.
Los adultos miden 12 cm de longitud y pesan 14 g; tienen un pico mediano, negro y ligeramente curvo. Los machos son de plumaje azul violeta, con las alas negras con una raya azul violeta en la mitad de las mismas, y la parte inferior, visible sólo en vuelo, es de color amarillo limón. La cola y la espalda también son negras, y también un antifaz alrededor de los ojos. Las patas son rojas brillantes. Tienen una corona azul turquesa.
El macho adulto es una de las pocas aves tropicales que cambia su plumaje durante la época de reproducción, fuera de época de cría las partes azul violeta de su plumaje se vuelven verdes, la espalda y la coronilla también se vuelven verdes; quedando así con un plumaje similar al de una hembra pero con alas negra.

For many years, stuffed animals have lain at most of the graves in this small cemetery just outside a dusty, blown-away prairie ghost town. I've never been able to determine who puts them there or why. On my most recent visit I saw that the "old" animals have been replaced with newer ones, but not as many. Several graves are now barren of these little companions, but all the children's graves appeared to host one or two. This stone reads "Infant Son of Mr. & Mrs. Lester Snyder, March 19, 1912 - March 22, 1912."
