I was so very sad to hear of your passing tonight.
You were such a gift, your talent will leave a wide gap in the literary world and will be sadly missed.
One of my favourite songs:
There are so many renditions of this song by many artists, it is just so beautiful.

Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand
Now I understand what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant
For one as beautiful as you
Songwriter and Lyrics: Don McLean
You're broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry go round
And you can't find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
And move mountains
We gonna walk it out
And move mountains
And I'll rise up
I'll rise like the day
I'll rise up
I'll rise unafraid
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again
And I'll rise up
High like the waves
I'll rise up
In spite of the ache
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousands times again
For you
For you
For you
For you
When the silence isn't quiet
And it feels like it's getting hard to breathe
And I know you feel like dying
But I promise we'll take the world to its feet
And move mountains
We'll take it to its feet
And move mountains

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams, I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light, I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never shared
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
"Fools" said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
Then the sign said, "The words on the prophets are written on the subway walls
In tenement halls"
And whispered in the sound of

"I AM ME" - The Song (Official Lyric Video) Fearless Soul
www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE_kzab3BWw
I am me
I'll never pretend to be another
I will never want to BE another
I will not change who I am just to fit in
I am me
I am not perfect
But I'm working on myself
Working to become the best version of myself
I'm not putting on a mask no more
The true me can't stay hidden
Because I'm not putting on a show no more
I'm not gonna act to fit in
Yeah, I might not be perfect
But I'm working on my best version
I'm on my way
Yes I'm on my way
If I have to I'll walk alone
Being myself is all that I know
Want me to change to fit in?
I won't
I am me
I can't pretend to be what I'm not
In my own way I know I am strong
I am free to do what I want
I am me
If I have to I'll walk alone
Being myself is all that I know
Want me to change to fit in?
I won't
I am me
I can't pretend to be what I'm not
In my own way I know I am strong
I am free to do what I want
I am me
Yes I am me
I am me
I'm not putting on a mask no more
I've got my own life to live
There's so much more I can give
I walk my own path
I won't pretend to be another
Never want to be another
Won't apologize for being me
That's all I can be
Yeah, I might not be perfect
But I'm working on my best version
I'm on my way
Yeah, I'm on my way
If I have to I'll walk alone
Being myself is all that I know
Want me to change to fit in?
I won't
I am me
I can't pretend to be what I'm not
In my own way I know I am strong
I am free to do what I want
I am me
Yeah, I might not be perfect
But I'm working on my best version!
I'm on my way
Because I'm on my way!
If I have to I'll walk alone
Being myself is all that I know
Want me to change to fit in?
I won't
I am me (I'm me)
I can't pretend to be what I'm not
In my own way I know I am strong
I am free to do what I want
Because I am me (I am me)
Yes, I am
Yes, I am me

The misery of self-isolation...
The song Oh Lonesome Me was written in 1957 by country singer-songwriter Don Gibson. It has been recorded by numerous artists, including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Neil Young.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Vibrant Minimalism'.
The image was done as a seven shot focus stack. The most tricky and time-consuming part was constructing the 'eye' - I punched out a tiny circle of yellow paper and managed to draw on the black pupil (this took a number of attempts), then I lost several of them in the carpet before I managed to get one to stick on the wood.
No wooden puzzle pieces were harmed in the making of this photograph.
My favorite Neil Diamond song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQLWF_ItzYs
Money talks
But it don't sing and dance and it don't walk
And long as I can have you here with me
I'd much rather be forever in blue jeans
Honey's sweet
But it ain't nothin' next to baby's treat
And if you'd pardon me, I'd like to say
We'd do okay forever in blue jeans.

Gloucester Docks, in the city of Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England, United Kingdom, on Wednesday 31st October 2012.
A brief information about the building in the photo is in Chapter 1.
If you want to know more in-depth history about the area, feel free to skip to Chapter 2.
Chapter 1: About the photograph
I am a graphic designer as well as a photographer. I have been doing some graphic design projects, like a book cover design, a fictional movie posters, packaging designs, and in this case, an album art cover for a fictional CD.
The subject of the non-existence and made-up album is about a female singer-songwriter, who used to live in an old industrial town during her childhood days, and decided to leave her hometown, to seek stardom in the world of music.
The name of the album is The Old Dying Town. It is supposed to imply that the coal mines have dried up, the factories closed down, the town lost its cinema and nightlife, and too many people leaving. The town could easily become a ghost town.
So for the design theme of the album art, I needed black and white photos of old buildings, coal mines, abandoned factories, and anything like that. Thankfully I was aware of the old warehouses in Gloucester that had been left run down.
So I drove there, parked my car, and walked around, looking for some of the few old buildings that would be useful as background for the album art design.
The camera was set to black and white mode, and I took the photographs. I did not think to take the photos in colour, then covert into black and white while using photo-editing software. It’s a habit from the old days of using film cameras, where I would load either colour or black and white roll of film.
That was around the year of 2012, and thankfully few years before those old warehouses by the docks, were redeveloped into modern apartments.
In this photo: The viewpoint of this photo was taken from the High Orchard Lift Bridge on St Ann Way, looking in the rough direction of northeast.
Originally in the past, this was part of the Llanthony Provender Mill. It was built in 1862 for Foster Brothers Oil and Cake Mill, which processed vegetable seeds into oil. The cake is a product made from seeds after the oil had been extracted, and used as animal feed.
In early 1950s, the company moved to Avonmouth, and the mill closed, then sold to West Midlands Farmers as a distribution depot, until mid-1990s, then it fell into a state of disrepair and dereliction until the 2010s when it would be bought for redevelopment.
On the left side of the photo, the tall building had been damaged in an arson attack c2015, and was later redeveloped into 47 luxury apartments, and restaurants on the ground floor.
The smaller side building, seen on the right side of the photo, had been turned into a Beefeater steakhouse restaurant.
Chapter 2: The history of the Gloucester Docks.
In medieval times, this area was an orchard belonging to the nearby Llanthony Secunda Priory, a house for the canons.
Historically, materials and goods were mostly transported by boats up the River Severn to Gloucester. By around 1580, Queen Elizabeth I granted Gloucester the status of a customs port.
In the early 1800s, a canal was built, and during the Victorian times, warehouses and industrial buildings were built on the site, which benefited from the newly opened Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.
There were various kinds of businesses on the site. Companies that imported timber and prepared them for the building industry, some iron works factories, and even a flour-milling buildings were also presented at the site.
Over time during the 20th century, some companies closed because of the difficulties in trying to compete against rival businesses, some buildings had caught fire, and many other factors. By the late 20th century, many of the buildings were left empty.
During the 2010s, most of High Orchard buildings were redeveloped as Gloucester Quays outlet shopping centre, and many of the other buildings were redeveloped as luxury flats (apartments).

I had the great fortune to shoot with rising
star, singer-songwriter Aubrey Burchell. This industrious songstress is busy gigging around the local area, and beyond, while also creating original songs, the next of which will be released during the coming month or so.
Her musical stylings convey a bold contemporary vibe with undertones of blues and funk. Be sure to catch her at one of Westmoreland County's many cozy local live music venues, or find her work online!

Entry for Astronomy Photographer of the Year:
This is a 9 image stitch. 5 for the sky, 4 for the landscape. Images were taken consecutively, in as tight a time period as possible.
Crater Lake National Park, Oregon, USA
--------------------
*long sigh of relief*
Man, it feels good to have this one done.
Crater Lake National Park, Oregon.
It's a 9 pano stitch. 5 exposures for the sky, 4 for the landscape. It's been a bear to process and edit. But I am psyched to see this printed as large as it can go!
I've lived here in Oregon for 3 yrs now, and this was my first trip to this National Park. Chip McAlpine was kind to have me along on his trip. He saw the break in the weather in the perfect star conditions and made the trip. I freaked out when I heard he was going and begged myself along. I can't thank him enough for the opportunity and the fact he did all the driving while I snored!
This image represents alot of effort for me. It put a strain on me physically, emotionally, mentally, and even with my relationships. I am very pleased with the result and am happy that if there was something to put all the strain on life- then this may have lived up to the demands.
Being a digital photographer is a weird thing. I consider myself a creative artist, but the process and lifestyle seems comical compared to other traditional arts. If you sit in front of a canvas on an easel painting for a month, it's evident you're a painter and the work process is very viewable. If you're a songwriter, you can spend night after night at the piano hammering out the melody and lyrics. It's not wondered what you're doing when someone walks in on you. A writer has some of that mystery in the process I guess.
But, as a digital photographer- it's a struggle to justify the process of sitting in front of a computer for three days to process something. If I was a film photographer, then spending three nights in the darkroom makes sense. But, three days in front of Photoshop and Lightroom seems more like I'm just surfing the web. *laughing*
We have a new reality to accept.
Anyway, amazing trip. Amazing experience.
Here's a "night shooters" blessing I'm working on,
"May your skies be clear,
The moon rise behind you,
Your batteries fully charged,
And your morning drive home safe."
Thanks for visiting :-)
