Preston Marina Common Tern with somewhat battered catch..

A bird's-eye view of the busy city streets, and an open 360 degree panorama over the city: the 39-floor SKYPER Tower offers a unique double perspective. Constructed in 2005 by the internationally renowned architects JSK, the 153-meter high SKYPER Tower with its distinctive shape and glass façade has become an iconic element of Frankfurt's skyline.

(somewhat of a curveball in my photostream, I know, but these guys made me smile and that's all the reason I need to put the photo up :-))

A unique and somewhat spooky take on Hawaii's state flower.

Older photo.

Taken in motion while driving down Moss Mill Road. I somewhat remember that day, I know I had just gotten done work and I was on my way to pick up my children's dad. Took this while driving, it had just snowed.

The only reason I still have this photo is because I saved it from my other Flickr account.

Lucky! If it wasn't for the internet [Flickr, Facebook, Etc] I probably wouldn't have any photos at all..

When I say that I "lost everything", I literally lost EVERYTHING.. & multiple times. So, I am now VERY GRATEFUL for the internet.. because of my photos being online.. I still am able to access them. And that's great, because I'm proud of my photos (all of them). They hold memories for me, good and bad.. but they're a big long story of my life.. And I embrace each memory.

Everything that happens to us.. Happens FOR A REASON & I do believe that if everything that has happened to me, hadn't happened.. I truly wouldn't be half of the amazing soul that I am today. & Yes, I do think that I am amazing. Mistakes and all. I'm very proud.

I lost a friend in recovery.

Another friend.

This addiction thing is really stealing a lot of beautiful souls.. either to steal them while they're alive & turn them into someone you don't know.. or steal them and take them into death, so you can never see their beautiful smile again.

>>It just sucks.

This is my first image posted using my new Z8. While somewhat smaller than the Z9, the Z8 retains the majority of the functionality of its "big brother." This is also the first image I have posted from my new backyard shooting gallery. I'm still able to get creamy backgrounds while getting closer to my subjects without spooking them. Fun!

My sincere thanks to all who spend the time to view, like or comment on my photos. It is much appreciated!

somewhat I always see him when I look at this building!

A somewhat rare opportunity came to be in Webster as we chased in which we had no cars behind us. I immediately recognized this as perfect pacing conditions since we would not be hindering anyone else's chase. N&W 611 makes its Lynchburg bound assault through Webster, Virginia, passing a set of classic Steam era N&W CPL's.

Portrait of a female black necked stork in the Kaziranga national park of India, March 2020.

Somewhat of a fisheye effect here, which I don't like at all. Panoramic stitch taken after sunset from Langarades village above the lake.

A somewhat rare event, a pair of SD60's lead the daily Kirk Yard to Waterloo manifest west on the Dubuque Sub. The train had many issues with the ice storm that hit overnight and extra power was brought out of Dubuque to help out this struggling train around Freeport. That is also why the train is about 9 hours late. Here they are stopped at Jesup waiting on lights for the final leg of the trip into Waterloo.

A somewhat hopeful image, remembering me of a slightly hopeful, but mainly devastating song (for some reason, I still can’t figure out):

La Dispute - You and I in unison

youtu.be/To5tfCFpYU4

"… I will sing sweetly hope that the notes change but

I do not need it to happen. I'm not resigned to it. And

If they never do I'll sing your name in every line.

Just like I did throughout this. Just like I've always done.

In every gun, the empty church, and every tortured son.

In all those giving up. In all those giving in.

Until I die I will sing our names in unison.

The Fin somewhat wet after some time in the sprinklers near Radium Hot Springs

Somewhat inevitable response to the theme from me I’m afraid!

Slightly 80’s treatment from the decade this lens was made!

I was interested by the amount of color in all the tattered bits and pieces as well as the moldy rose hip in the back. Exaggerated by sliding in LightRoom Classic, and punched up in Nik Viveza 2

Winter here in West Wales is usually colour-free in the garden until the January/February bulbs start to appear. This year, despite the hard frosts and chilly days, some roses are still budding and blooming, a welcome and somewhat unexpected burst of colour in the flower borders and in mid-December!

"Tiny, somewhat warbler-like flycatcher of tropical lowlands. Has a long and rather broad bill for such a small bird. Favors open and semi-open areas. Usually found in pairs, flitting actively and holding its tail cocked"

Somewhat better resolved than the previous shot of a Grey Wagtail

Being somewhat of a cultural crossroads, Hat Yai affords ample opportunity for dining on a variety of cuisine. In additions to spicy Thai cooking and seafood for which the South is famed, Chinese and Muslim specialties are to be enjoyed at a number of excellent restaurants or street food stalls.

CN 123 has a somewhat old school lashup (by 2022 standards) of SD75I CN 5784 & Dash9-44CW CN 2548 as it heads west on the North Track of the Kingston Sub.

Male.

Scientific name: Sympetrum danae.

The Black darter is a small, narrow-bodied dragonfly that is on the wing from June to October. This is a common dragonfly of moorlands, heaths and bogs. As their name suggests, Black darters have a darting and somewhat skittish flight, moving forward suddenly from a hovering position to catch their insect-prey.

Many thanks to people who view or comment on my photos.

Somewhat strange name for a lovely wild flower.

Somewhat better light today.

(Somewhat belatedly)

Somewhat incongruously, this Spotted Sandpiper was in a small tree near a pond close to the Bow River in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This species utilizes a variety of habitats, usually associated with freshwater (but I have also seen them on rocky beaches close to the ocean www.flickr.com/photos/luminouscompositions/51394198949/in... ). These birds winter over a large area from southern USA to much of South America.

A somewhat different capture from my more recent posts. An outing today to Seaham Pier, to try out my new lens. We arrived a little late to capture the large waves hitting the lighthouse but a shipping vessel from Cyprus leaving the dock, added a little interest.

As you can see, here in the Northeast of England our weather has been a little drab of late. Determined to make the most of the situation, I thought using the drama of the sea was a good option.

Somewhat new neighbor dropped by in a most unexpected way. Smaller that some in the area, think she is younger than most of the others. When we left the house she was not by the walkway and upon returning, she was on her back with the shell closed up tight. Went over and righted the turtle, in the second picture you can see the dirt on the shell. Retreated to the porch after retrieving the camera. The head eventually emerged and she watched me for a long time. I went in and upon return she had departed. Glad I was able to right her.

Castelfalfi, Tuscany, Italy, 2015.

The processing is somewhat over-ripe. Ok, but it actally looked a lot like it.

Moreover, Castelfalfi is a weird project. A german holiday company has bought a whole village in Tuscany, that was nearly abandoned. The idea was to create a holiday resort, that isn't artificial. They are about a decade behind scedule, but are pretty successful with creating a unique but real place.

A somewhat tired looking Clyde Puffer with a picture postcard backdrop.

somewhat more over-processed version of the White Trees I to give it more the feeling when actually looking into the light on a bright day.

Which do you like better?

The owlet waits somewhat patiently as mom prepares breakfast of tasty frog.

Thanks so much for the visit!

This morning seemed somewhat grim. A lapse of time guarding a natural convergence. Sky and sea as well as the mountains met in blue tones. Open the window and look at this sea.

Somewhat amazed this afternoon when this Roe Deer casually walks right up to me on my shooting stick, sniffs me and carries on feeding close by. Next to no cropping on these images

Somewhat hackneyed phrase..but still liking it on occasion. Monarch taking nectar from purple cone flower.

In a somewhat surprising move, Pan Am recently decided to repaint GP40-2LW 502 into the most recent iteration of their paint scheme (for EMDs anyway). It's seen here two days after release from the paint shop basking in the afternoon sun at Waterville, being used as a yard air plant for half of the night's WAPO. Given Pan Am's recent focus on GE power, it's surprising that they bothered repainting one of the old GP40s, but it does look pretty spiffy with fresh paint, and a PTC installation on the cab roof.

A somewhat cleaner cut of an old one from Alaska. It's from a time that I never really questioned the 6x4 ratio that the camera came up with.

I've always been a little fond of this one, because it's messy, and I usually don't do messy. Also, it's from Alaska.

Somewhat unusual flowerpots. Have a great day, everyone.
