recently have been taking photo with my iphone and using Instagram a lot. somehow it has become habitual, just like people logon to fb everyday. can't deny the power of social media but meanwhile i dont feel too good about it. using too much of filters on the phone camera apps, feeling overdosed sometimes, as i never used any filter and photoshopped my analogue photos. and i start to realise the 'disposable' quality in digital photos. comparing the photos i took with the canon SLR that i have been using for more than a decade and iphone, they really share a very different sensibility although both taken by me. i think, our works, or rather my works are affected by tools. you can tell from the things captured in the photos, the mood and etc.
in celebration of the new media, i still cherish the analogue world.
this virtual space is strange,,religous and mental, at least this is how i feel about it.
www.intersectionconsulting.comCultivate your social network by being helpful, being present, being social, sharing the love and paying it forward.
www.intersectionconsulting.comSocial media is changing the way organizations communicate with their audiences.
www.intersectionconsulting.comAs our professional and personal lives become more connected through social media, it’s common for organizations to have some employees representing their brands on social networks away from the office.
As these overlaps take root, it’s important to implement a social media policy so both the employer and employees understand what’s expected with respect to roles, responsibilities and behavior.
www.intersectionconsulting.comA high level view of the process I use when speaking with clients about social media strategy.
www.intersectionconsulting.comThis “social media commuter” guide maps out the main strategy arteries: Discovery; Strategy; Implementation; Management; Audit
www.intersectionconsulting.comDon't get distracted by all the "shiny" tools - think about your social media strategy before jumping in. Note: Thanks to Ivan Walsh - that's his "50 Social Media Icons" image in the big bubble.
www.intersectionconsulting.comThe dynamics of social media revolve/intersect around:
* the democratization of information and knowledge
* the distribution of content through social interaction
* publishing tools that are scalable and easy to access
* individuals transitioning from media consumers to content publishers
* a transformation from one-way media broadcasts to two-way communication

www.intersectionconsulting.comDragonflies have a unique ability to maneuver in multiple directions during flight due to the fact that their four independent wings work in unison.
This visual was inspired by The Dragonfly Effect – Quick, Effective, Powerful Ways to Use Social Media to Effect Social Change written by Jennifer Aaker and Andy Smith. I love the dragonfly concept and thought it also represented the perfect metaphor for connecting the major elements of social media strategy: 1. Social Environment; 2. Strategic Planning; 3. Tactical Implementation; 4. Ongoing Management
www.intersectionconsulting.comSocial Media is not a solution for organizations with major infrastructure issues. If anything, social media marketing will be the weight that exposes cracks in leadership, culture, product quality, customer service, etc.
www.intersectionconsulting.com“Influence” is the latest social media hot button topic. How does your organization become a significant member within the communities you serve?
Brian Solis delves into this on a recent blog post: Social Media’s Critical Path: Relevance to Resonance to Significance.
Your content is the currency that starts the relationship building process across social channels. The path of Relevance to Resonance to Significance needs to begin with a deep understanding of your audience’s information needs – it’s difficult to be relevant without knowing what’s important to your community.
A circular narrative on the loneliness we feel social media helps to alleviate, but the loneliness it brings when all our relationships are digital
How does social media relate to your organization? Social media will envelop every part of a corporate entity over time. For more information on social media strategy, please visit windmillnetworking.com

www.intersectionconsulting.comWith organizations banning social networks and, simultaneously, sales of smartphones on the rise, it's likely that employees will seek to feed their social media addictions on their mobile devices. What used to be cigarette breaks could turn into "social media breaks" as long as there is a clear signal and IT isn't looking. As a result, we may see more and/or better mobile versions of our favorite social drug of choice. (David Armano)
