Felt so fortunate this morning to see about five Northern Flicker woodpeckers silently observing what I'm guessing could be an eagle high above in the rain clouds. Four were motionless in the near aspen trees, one far back in a maple, and this cold female tolerated me and my noisy camera gear. No juncos or others small birds at the feeders.
I'm also guessing she has some of the crushed sunflower seed at the tip of her beak. She knew where I was. After moving and standing that branch up with my husband's help, we've benefited from many bird poses in the past six years.

So many in a row....rain, rain, go away. Leaves are falling everywhere as you can see on ground beyond picnic table....this leaf was stuck to table. Hint of tree reflections.

...so lautete der Titel einer Ausstellung im Herbst/Winter 2016/17 im Heydar Aliyev Museum.
Der 1963 geborene mexikanische Künstler Jorge Marin ist dem einen oder anderen vielleicht schon einmal untergekommen - sein interessant gestaltetes Flügelpaar ohne Figur dazwischen steht in Berlin vor der mexikanischen Botschaft und dient gern als Kulisse für Fotos.
Die Skulpturen - damals waren es insgesamt 10 - laden ein, über unsere Prozesse der Konstruktion unseres Körpers und der Persönlichkeit nachzudenken als eine Übung der Selbstbeobachtung über den Geist und die Persönlichkeit als Summe von Fragmenten, die uns menschlich machen.
Fast alle von ihnen sind geflügelt - ein Symbol für die Möglichkeit, über sich hinaus zu wachsen und über die eigenen Grenzen zu gehen.
Drei Kunstwerke sind nach dem Ende der Ausstellung im Museum verblieben.
Habe sie alle fotografiert - mal von weiter weg und auch in großen Nahaufnahmen.
Diese hier trägt den Namen VIENTO - Wind.

This common myna (acridotheres tristis) visited the open land behind our bungalow, in Trou D'Eau Douce, Mauritius. By far the loudest bird around, it even bested the several red-whiskered bulbuls.

Hamnøy is a small fishing village in Lofoden, Norway. It is located about 1.5 kilometres northeast of the village of Reine,
The first time I seen an image of this it was somewhere I always wanted to visit and this week I was lucky enough to make it. We had a 4.30am start to make it for blue hour and having an hour or so of snow sleet and rain to stand in but well worth it.

At Piazza Navona, Rome. The church on the right is the Baroque church Sant'Agnese in Agone and the fountain is Fontana del Nettuno (Fountain of Neptune).
There is actually one more church to spot in this picture - but it looks so much less grand, that it is easy to miss. On the left side, almost at the end of the piazza, next to a covered up building, there is a white facade. That is the church Nostra Signora del Sacro Cuore.
