Just smile.
Good advice from a young Gecko, paused in a patch of sunlight on the island of Kauai.
Image straight out of camera with slight levels adjustment and cropped slightly.
... Soap on Black Background.
I took this today, but have lost my EXIF details while changing the background.
Try large and thank you for your favourites. :)
……Went for the Circus side of the theme in this weeks Smile on Saturday, the chair is a creation by the Daughter in Law from a few Christmases ago - made from a top off a bottle of Bubbly, balancing it was a challenge but not insurmountable! The Elephant came from Jill’s moms but needed a pair of Tusks - unlikely to be Ivory poachers, however a few minutes with a Crochet needle (also Jill’s moms) I fashioned a new pair for him! The Ball is a remnant from when our Grandson was little. And finally, the Big Top backdrop is the curtain we hang over the front door to keep the direct sun off it. Indeed it was natural sunlight here, ‘Click’ & hey presto - Smile On Saturday, well after some minor edits just in Lightroom only. Alan:-) HSoS……

This young Mallard seems to be smiling to himself as he drifts along in the sunshine...which made me think of this lovely poem by the wonderful late great Spike Milligan. Seems quite apt to me right now ❤️ Let’s all be kind to each other.
Smile
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realised
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth.
A single smile, just like mine
could travel 'round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
The vibrant colors I thought may bring out some smiles instead of a low key shot with black background.
Smile on Saturday
theme: Carved art pieces
Last Sunday, I had a great opportunity to capture images inside a terrain with many young born sheeps. I like the attached a lot, as it creates some smile just when watching. Looking at local weather here today, just the opposite is happening. But there is not bad weather, just...All good weekend ahead. Thanks, Udo.
A candid portrait of Louie, a 2-yr old chimp, at the DeYoung Family Zoo in Wallace Michigan.
Louie’s crooked smile: infectious.
This image from 2012 pulled from my vast digital archive. Louie is driving by now.

Fish don't like to swim towards you, so it has been a while that I have been trying to capture a parrotfish with its buck teeth goofy grin visible. That it was a relatively uncommon blue parrotfish is a bonus.
My attempt at the "Smile on Saturday" theme "selfmade smiley".
Shot with a Leitz "Summicron DR 50 mm F 2" on a Canon EOS R5.
Just a simple candid street style Snapograph captured at The South Bank London UK of a couple enjoying themselves taking snaps.

Another weekend, yet another place that somehow in Singapore I am actually visiting it for the first time.
Dempsey Hill is actually one of the places that I had wanted to go for quite a long time, but somehow I overlooked it for one reason or another.
It was only when I joined up with my usual group of people for a vintage motor car exhibition that I would actually make the trip there, full of smiles like this shot here.

………Quite a challenge for Macro Monday’s theme ‘Halloween’ I thought this week! Not Halloween per se, but keeping it within the confines of a credit card!! For scale, the Pumpkins are Pyracantha berries and both the skull & ghost are less than two inches tall. I cut the ghost out of piece of card and did an in-camera double exposure - one with ghost & then without to make him more ‘ghostly’ (I hope). BTW the carved pumpkin I did in Lightroom cloning some black cloth from behind!! Happy Macro Monday & ‘stay safe’. Alan:-)……

One of my favorite photos I've ever made. I frequently photographed the bees writhing amongst the stamens fallen in clumps on the petals of my Southern Magnolia's flowers. This little feller actually fell off the petal while clutching an armful of stamens as he fell, but of course quickly righted himself and flew back onto the petal. Just an awesome capture for me. FLOWER-FACE making me smile, making it smile...
