A programme to instil confidence and better educate new enlistees, and their parents about the National Service training regime, was held on 10th November at the GIIS SMARTCampus. In collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, the National Service Familiarization Event aimed to shed light on the National Service Enlistment Process, and other related aspects. Representatives from MINDEF, and some of GIIS alumni were invited to provide more personal and in-depth insights into their transition from a student to a National Serviceman, and overall NS journey.

Representatives from MINDEF, and some of GIIS alumni were invited to provide more personal and in-depth insights into their transition from a student to a National Serviceman, and overall NS journey. Parents of sons who have successfully completed their NS duties also shared their perspectives.The event concluded with a Q&A session addressed by guest speakers.

Cowley is excited about working with NetDragon to bring "SmartCampus" to UNT. "SmartCampus" is still in beta testing but Cowley hopes it will be ready by the end of fall.
