We've done it, we moved into our new home on Sat 24th, still lots to do but we've settled in, so I will try and get back to commenting more now, still rather busy to get out with the camera, so it will have to archive stuff for a bit longer. I don't want to move house ever again, ha ha
One of numerous small blues seen in the masts field at Prestbury Hill nature reserve. The lower slopes close to the entrance to the reserve proved to be a real hot spot for these tiny butterflies
The Small Tortoiseshell is one of our most-familiar butterflies, appearing in gardens throughout the British Isles.
This butterfly can turn up almost anywhere, from city centres to mountain tops. As such, it is one of our most successful butterflies. It is most-often seen, however, where nettles grow in abundance, such as field margins. This butterfly is often encountered while hibernating in an outbuilding, such as a garage, shed or barn, where they may be found in the company of other individuals. Other hibernation sites include hollow trees and wood piles.

The Verdin is a very small songbird. This one was making some beautiful music at the end of the day.

Kleiner Feuerfalter (Lycaena Phaeas)
Lycaena phlaeas, the small copper, American copper, or common copper, is a butterfly of the Lycaenids or gossamer-winged butterfly family. According to Guppy and Shepard (2001), its specific name phlaeas is said to be derived either from the Greek phlego, "to burn up" or from the Latin floreo, "to flourish".

Listen to birds chatting in the morning when the sky turns from black to blue and pink, shy at first and full of energy shortly...
Wait for the morning mist to leave a trail of little stars that sparkle in the grass while the sun rises and paints the canvas of the sky...
Breathe the crisp air... Have a coffee...
Small things at the start of a new day... Small things that bring comfort and calm...
Small Magpie (Anania hortulata) is a small attractive moth. It flies at night but can be easily disturbed during daytime. This what has happened here. It tried to fly away, but, lucky for me, it decided that this spot on the gate will do for the rest of the day. Taken in the garden, Bath, England, UK
A slightly faded individual but this was the first time I'd encountered the species at Centenary Riverside in Rotherham, taking my count of butterflies at this small urban reserve in 2018 to an impressive 19.

There are 4 or 5 species of orange-colored globemallow flowers that can be found in Colorado. Based on the location, the overall appearance, and the shape of the leaves, I deduce that this is Small-leaf Globemallow (Sphaeralcea parvifolia).
There was a mass of grasses, vines and other plants on a slope at Colorado's Red Rock Park, but these spikes of bright orange flowers stood above the tangled greenery--a most delightful sight.
