For a birthday gift, spent a wonderful morning driving multiple sports cars as fast as I was able to around their racing track. I had a blast driving a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, an Aston Martin, and a Porsche. And I did a ride along with in a Corvette Z06 with an expert in drifting.
While we were there, there was group of journalists and photographers there to document an outing by the guy who came in second in the World Series of Poker, Dan Bilzerian.

euch allen einen frohen ersten Mai! Herzlich Willkommen an alle, die noch oder schon wieder wissen, was ein Blog ist. Kinder, Alkohol ist böse! Nein, Spaß beiseite…
Ich war das gesamte Wochenende sehr viel unterwegs und wie versprochen hab ich heute die Bilder vom DTM Saisonauftakt in Hockenheim für euch. Das Wetter hat es an beiden Tagen gut gemeint. Nachdem es am Samstag bis zu 33°C hatte, war der Sonntag etwas milder. Ich war zwar nur sonntags da, aber es hat trotzdem für einen ordentlichen Sonnenbrand gereicht!
Nach einer gefühlten Ewigkeit ist neben Audi und Mercedes auch wieder BMW als dritter Hersteller in der DTM vertreten. So sind es nun 22 Autos, 4 mehr als noch im letzten Jahr. Das hat dafür gesorgt, dass auch viele Fahrer den Rennstall gewechselt haben. Martin Tomczyk oder Bruno Spengler fahren beispielsweise jetzt für BMW.
Laut Streckenkommentator waren die Tribünen nahezu alle ausverkauft, was bedeutet, dass etwa 90.000 Menschen den Weg zum Hockenheimring gefunden haben!

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a luxury grand tourer automobile developed by Mercedes-AMG to replace the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The car is the first Mercedes automobile designed in-house by AMG and is described by Mercedes-Benz as a spiritual successor to the 300SL Gullwing.
The vehicle was unveiled at the 2009 IAA. Sales began in mid-2010 in Europe with MSRP of €177,310 (including taxes) and will begin in the United States in mid-2011 for less than $200,000. Promotional advertisements of the SLS AMG have also begun airing in India as well from April 2010. The SLS AMG is featured as the cover car for the PlayStation 3 racing game Gran Turismo 5, and was the safety car for the 2010 Formula One season.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is an upcoming grand tourer automobile developed by Mercedes-Benz AMG to replace the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The SLS AMG is designed to be a modern 300SL Gullwing revival.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (interne Bezeichnung: C197) ist ein zukünftiges Gran-Turismo-Coupé mit Flügeltüren. Der Sportwagen von Mercedes-Benz wurde im September 2009 auf der IAA erstmals präsentiert und soll im Frühjahr 2010 in den Handel kommen. Die Bezeichnung SLS ist die Kurzform für „Sport Leicht Super“.
Das Fahrzeug ist der erste Mercedes-Sportwagen mit Flügeltüren seit dem legendären Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Coupé (Uhlenhaut-Coupé) bzw. dem 300 SL, der von 1954 bis 1957 von Mercedes gebaut wurde.

This is the other big hit in the tuning world... The Mercedes SLS AMG "HAWK" by Hamann. Everyone knows Hamann and the great work they do... always such nice cars and details. Take a look at the new body parts it adds. And the color itself is pretty nice too: sober, classic, nothing too fancy... Overall, definitely my favorite tuned-out SLS AMG. Maybe ex aequo with the Fab Design one.
