Great Horned Owl - Sleeping in my neighbors tree when I went home for lunch today. Took 88 pictures slinking around two of my neighbors snow covered yards to get a good angle.
I am sure they could not figure out who was on their property while they were at work - LOL.
As for the owl, he was waiting for me in the same spot when I got home from work 5 hours later. I just might have a new pet...
Yes. It was actually Rammstein playing in the background and my cat fell asleep. It wasn't too loud, but it was definitely not that quite as well.

On our way home from our bog trip last weekend, we stopped by Park Point in Duluth to see this good-looking Snowy Owl, asleep in this spruce tree.

"My heart is like the sleeping lake,
Which takes the hue of cloud and sky,
And only feels its surface break
When birds of passage wander by.
Who dip their wings and upward soar,
And leave it quiet as before." N.P. Willis
She sleeps undisturbed and unnamed in a small glade beside a babbling stream. She is so silent and so still, one may blindly pass and never know here lies a nymph turned to stone forever part of an earthly tome .
Crystal clear calm water on the Tyne. While some sleep some of us are starting graft, this is one of the perks from silly o clock starts
On World Animal Day 2024, our Bruno is sleeping in a basket for the very first time.
Having resold his previous two baskets because he wouldn't go near them, this felt like an accomplishment or sorts.
Got to sleep in this morning. Woke up only to find everyone else was still asleep, too! So I grabbed a cup of coffee, with a little peppermint mocha creamer, and a few Gingerbread Wookiee Cookies to nibble on.
** Granted, there's more than just a dab of creamer in my coffee. And my family brought lots of goodies to snack on for our Christmas Eve gathering, and the Wookie Cookies were one of the many goodies left behind to enjoy.
Found this fun link a while back. Just be sure to turn ON the sound - and WAIT for it:

This is my second favourite from 2017.
I camped for a few days at Sleep Giant Provincial Park (thanks for the recommendation Cindy!!).
What a beautiful spot!!
A number of campsites right on the Lake and looking towards the Sleeping Giant. And I got treated to this beautiful sunset!!
Happy days!!!
Thanks Ramon for sharing this:
"... and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come."
