Every now and then I wish that my heart was not there just to turn it off and not to see the corpses of my biggest mistakes and not to feel any more emotions.

The truth, however, is that feelings don't go off with a button overnight.

Despite everything they remain there like ghosts to tear you apart when they once gave a smile.

🎶When routine bites hard,

And ambitions are low,

And resentment rides high,

But emotions won't grow,

And we're changing our ways,

Taking different roads.

Then love, love will tear us apart again 🎶

I know the whole point with the depictions of skeletons in the 17th and 18th century and so, was to remind the viewer of the the vanity of life and that everything will die and turn to dust (and bones). But still, doesn't this skeleton look like quite a friendly chap? And even if you find the motif kind of... you know... you have to admire the hands that has made this. It isn't painted in any way, the whole picture is created by piecing together different kind of stones!

“The progress of science is strewn, like an ancient desert trail, with the bleached skeleton of discarded theories which once seemed to possess eternal life.”

The Skeleton Trees, Noir Flohay.

It was so misty i need to use the wide angle to get close, otherwise i didn't see them.

Strange combination there, stormy wind and low hanging clouds forming the mist.

Walking back across the beach it's always good to check out the various rock pools for interest. I loved the shapes of this one mirroring the sun's rays. Skeleton Tree is by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and is a. beautiful song so is fine.

"Love my name

Love left dry

Frost or flame

Skeleton me

Fall asleep

Spin the sky

Skeleton me

Love, don't cry

Soon comes rain

Dry your eyes

Frost or flame

Skeleton me

Fall asleep

Spin the sky

Skeleton me

Love, don't cry"

The guts and glory of the South Channel Bridge are revealed as we pass underneath on our sail to the Tall Ships Festival in Montreal.

The beautiful meadow is gone

Gone are the catlle

The mist belows the contours of ledge and furrow

Winter has come and burried the meadow under his load

Only the proud tree has disturbed his work and only its skeleton remains and waits patiently for spring, when he once again will be raised

It's freezing cold and the Northern wind is silent howling....howling.... howling........

Now that the trees have mostly descended their leaves they look like skeletons on the blue...be right back at ya when springtime blooms again.

Sunday morning, skeleton tree

Oh, nothing is for free

In the window, a candle

Well, maybe you can see

Fallen leaves thrown across the sky

A jittery TV

Glowing white like fire

Nothing is for free

I called out, I called out

Right across the sea

But the echo comes back in, dear

And nothing is for free

Sunday morning, skeleton tree

Pressed against the sky

The skeleton of a giant saguaro remains decades after the sentinel thrived.

It's that time of year for the obligatory Halloween skeleton photo. I'm really looking forward to Samhain this year.

I took this picture as an analog slide (Fuji Velvia) in 1997. The "scan" ist selfmade with an Nikon D70s, some years later.

Sam's Point, Eufaula lake...Lack of rain and the resulting low water levels exposed these "skeletons" where the South Canadian River runs into Eufaula Lake. The light was great so I was scrambling around trying to find a decent composition. Seems like I do lots of scrambling around hunting for comps when the light gets good, almost none of my shots are pre-planned. I usually just shoot what I can find where I am at the time. Thanks for taking the time to look and have a great week!!!

If you celebrate Halloween... then "Happy Halloween!" I thought this not-so-spooky photo of some sagebrush skeletons in the Owyhee Mountains of eastern Oregon was appropriate for the occasion... you know... skeletons, right?. 🎃👍

This keyhole is on the Garden Door. I guesstimate it to be nearly 70 years old.

It's from a fin sei whale. In the possession of the city of Lyon since 1878, this skeleton comes from a specimen washed up on the Corsican coast. It weighs a whopping 1,200kg (2.646lb) and is 17.75m (58.23ft) long. This suggests the animal's gigantic size when alive, with an estimated weight of 35t (38.58 US ton) and a length of 18.25m (59.88ft).
