Panning on Suzuki 4x4 SJ competitor..
Panning is an effect which creates horizontal or skewed blurred background while capturing the motion of the subject in focus. This technique is an amazing finding in photography to capture the movement of the subject.

Seeing the red pickup I thought I'd seen something a bit unusual. But then 100m further up the road there was another, the white one...

"Chassis number: VSE0SJV3D00088904. Supplied new by Suzuki at Highfield in January 1991 - the original sales invoice comes with the car. Our local vendor purchased the Suzuki in 2020 and has used it regularly for local journeys, storing it under cover in the winter. Described as driving very well. The car is a remarkable survivor and remains in excellent condition, a testament to its three owners. The service book contains the first main dealer service in 1991 then 11 hand written entries from 2002 until 2015 detailing service and maintenance work. A quantity of further maintenance records and parts invoices show just how well this Suzuki has been looked after. Comes with the original book pack, invoices, MoT certificates back to 1997, original brochure and some useful spares including a windscreen. 32,546 warranted miles."

Not exactly in the meet, but was parked on the way in and later in the day had a for sale notice on it - I wonder if it was brought along by someone connected with the aviation museum? It's on a local plate, would have been sold new just a couple of miles up the road and it's easy to imagine it being used on one of the local farms.

The SJ40 Jimny 1000 was introduced for 1982 to replace the LJ80 range. The Jimny 1000, sold as the Suzuki SJ410 in most export markets, used the F10A - a larger 1 litre version of the LJ's 0.8 liter four-cylinder engine. producing 45bhp four-speed manual transmission was standard, as were non-power assisted drum brakes front and rear. The SJ410 came as a half-door convertible, long-wheelbase pickup truck, two-door hardtop raised-roof hardtop, and no-glass hardtop (panel van). In Japan, the pickup truck was intended as a bare-bones work vehicle. Maximum payload is 350 kg (770 lb) Later, a covered long-wheelbase version was added for export markets.
In 1984, the SJ was revamped with the launch of the SJ413, he SJ413 included a larger 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine, 5-speed manual transmission and power brakes (disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear) all around. The body and interior were also redesigned, with the introduction of a roll bar, along with a new dashboard, seats, and grille. The SJ410 remained in production for various other markets with the old specifications. After the 1988 introduction of the Escudo, sales of the Jimny 1300 ended in Japan. The model returned to the Japanese market in May 1993, after a thorough update.

No MoTs showing online, suggesting it hasn't been on the road since at least 2005/06. DVLA lists it with a new V5 on 27th April (yesterday!), so maybe it did get sold?

The first Suzuki-branded 4-wheel drive, the LJ Series, was introduced in 1970. They had a 359, then 539cc 2 stroke engine (a 800cc 4 stroke engine available from 1977).
This second generation 4WD Jimny was built from 1981-98, the first of them, the SJ30, still used the 539cc 2 stroke.
The 1982 SJ410 got a 1000cc 4 stroke. It was available in 2 door wagon, convertible, pickup or cab chassis
The 1984 SJ413 was a facelift model, a new dash and a new grille, the engine increased to 1300cc
Leaf springs were replaced by coils in 1995
In Australia and other export markets these second generation Jimnys were called the Suzuki Sierra, a badge engineered version was sold by Holden, the Holden Drover
