Due to engineering works on the Norwegian line Oslo - Kongsvinger - Charlottenberg (catenary renewal), the passenger service Oslo - Stockholm has been put on the backburner for three years starting December 2018. The X2000 EMU's have been replaced by loco hauled trains that are often replaced be busses. on 31 May 2019 only one train the entire day was operated Stockholm - Oslo. it is seen near Edane, hauled by SJ Rc6 1390.

SJ X2000 Stockholm - Göteborg at Åkleby.

ex-SJ steam loco B 1267 now owned by Norra Bergslagens Järnvägar (NBJ), at Nora.

Achter Mälartåg was nog een reizigerstrein onderweg die we nog op deze plek op wilden wachten. Het betrof de intercity vanuit Stockholm naar het Noorse Oslo. De SJ rijdt door heel Zweden heen een aantal intercitytreinen met locs uit de serie Rc6. Dit zijn relatief jonge locs die op dit moment vrijwel uitsluitend in het reizigersvervoer worden ingezet, zowel bij de SJ als bij Vy. Hoewel de Rc6 van SJ vroeger in diverse gave kleurstellingen rondreden, is daar vandaag de dag niets meer van over. Alle locs zijn tegenwoordig zwart van kleur, en inmiddels zijn ook bijna alle rijtuigen zwart gemaakt. Toevallig is er in deze trein nog een rijtuig aanwezig in oude kleurstelling. Ik ben echt totaal géén fan van deze kleurstelling, en ik kan me eerlijk gezegd ook niet voorstellen hoe men hier in Zweden iets moois in ziet. Wie in Zweden nog een getrokken reizigerstrein in kleur wil zien zal een van de weinige treinen van Tågab of een van de nachttreinen naar het noorden van Zweden moeten vastleggen. Flixtrain is natuurlijk ook nog een optie, al zijn deze locs beduidend moderner.

SJ 1384 passeert de twee fotografen ter hoogte van Ålsta met vijf rijtuigen, als IC 639 van Stockholms central naar Oslo.
