Northern Cardinal at the heated birdbath. Wind chill is 4 below today. A water source is essential for birds in winter.

This is an all white Barn Owl from Norfolk. Apparently it is known as a leucistic Barn Owl. They are quite rare. Also know locally as Castro. It was a good hunter and appeared nearly every day

I took a series of close shots of a Common Crow (Euploea core) feeding from a flower. When it came to posting them, I couldn't choose between this and the previous shot, so I've uploaded both.

Orange Longwing (Dryas julia) Butterfly sipping nectar

No new fly pics this year (I've seen a few but not managed to photograph them). However I feel the need for some colour in my life today so here's a photo from last Summer. I must buy another Senetti plant, it was an insect magnet HFDF!
