I love watching orcas swim along with their family. They tell us the importance of family and happiness is by our side.

Taken at Roseberry Topping last night ... the sky was quite heavy with cloud, but there was a small gap to the left & the setting sun managed to peak out fro a brief 30 seconds illuminating the hill & fields below with some gorgeous warm light ...
Side by Side is a picture of North America's two cranes. The one in from the Whooping and in one in back the Sandhill. You can often find them together in the same groups. Lovely birds.

As mentioned on my last shot, conditions were tough, this spot in particular was very windy after the the passing gales.
The light and height of the sun only gave us a few minutes of colour but I loved having this view all to ourselves. Precious moments.
The one waterfall in all of West Virginia that I've anticipated shooting the most is Brush Creek Falls in the southern end of the state, not far from Pipestem Resort. I had been there once before this past spring, but didn't do much photography due to the large volume of water gushing over the falls. These falls need to be visited in Autumn, when the leaves have turned gold and the water flows this way and that, over the many rocks and ledges. But if you truly want to fully appreciate their elegance and grace, you need to cross over to the other side, where the falls take on a beautiful personality all of their own. The ashy mining bee or grey mining bee, Andrena cineraria, is a European species of the sand bee genus. Its distinctive colouring makes it one of the most easily recognised of the genus. The females are black, with two broad grey hair bands across the thorax.
Side is a medieval street in Newcastle upon Tyne. The street today begins by the St Nicholas' Cathedral in the city centre and runs past the Black Gate and takes a steep descent down to Sandhill on the Quayside. It's name derives from location on the side of a hill.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all
