Taormina is a hilltop town on the east coast of Sicily. It sits near Mount Etna, an active volcano with trails leading to the summit. The town is known for the Teatro Antico di Taormina, an ancient Greco--Roman theater still used today. Near the theater, cliffs drop to the sea forming coves with sandy beaches. A narrow stretch of sand connects to Isola Bella, a tiny island and nature reserve.

Floridia which is a very small town in Sicily where my mother's parents were from. It had just poured and then the sun came out!

HWW!!
My Dad's summer house in Siracusa Sicily on the first floor of the building on the right...I spent many of summers here growing up and getting cannoli in the bakery store on the ground level next door that you can see in this photo. When my dad retired as a doctor in New York he moved back to Sicily where he was from and lived here till he passed...the best part of my trip was revisiting my dad's house and showing Tim where i spent my summers!
