Taken on the Voigtlander 35mm f/1.4 II (Multi Coated), wide open at f/1.4, deliberately provoking maximum 'into the sun' flare. This effect dissappears with even the slightest amount of stopping down.

Adirondack shrubbery meets the helios lens.

Spent a week up in the Dacks mid July, still hooked on watching the Olympics and a friend came to visit on Friday and spent the weekend.

Not much Flickr time but I'll be coming round in bits and pieces.

Have a good week.

The ramp-with-shrubbery alternative. The ramp is a more interesting ascent.

Happy SfS!

Wear your mask!

Worth my cliff-side fear. Don't you think? I recommend holding on to a well rooted Shrubbery. If needed.

Shrubbery deserts 🌵

The Battenkill Railroad's leased Alco RS36 SNEX 5012 travels northbound shortly after departure from the NS interchange at Eagle Bridge, NY. The Battenkill can be seen traveling down the former D&H Washington Branch an average of about once a week, occasionally with the 5012 in charge as historically appropriate for the location. The story I heard is that the unit is leased from Southern New England Rail as a result of an increase in traffic occasionally requiring a second unit to pull the heavy loads up the branch to the mills, and with one of the RS3s out of service an alternate solution was found. The entire northbound run back towards Salem is generally backlit, so the already excellent weather conditions with storm clouds in the background and bright sky behind me proved even more rewarding, though the shrubbery looked much more colorful in real life than the picture does it justice.

Me, hiding in shrubbery, taking photos of unsuspecting visitors to Bodnant Gardens. Well a girl has got to find her fun wherever she can ;-)

ya gotta admit i do find unusual things, eh?.... methinks someone didn't want the carbs and decided that the birds might like a roll, so put it on a branch.

A view looking to the southwest at a roadside pullout along Utah Scenic Byway 12. This is located in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and takes in view of the Aquarius Plateau with the high desert landscape setting that includes eroded gullies and colorful slickrock stretching off to a distant horizon. My thinking in composing this image was to take advantage of the nearby tree or shrubbery and desert plant-life and have a captured view of a log beyond. I closed down on the aperture so that more of the entire setting would be in focus, even though the focal point was with the nearby tree or shrubbery. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 5 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.

Any number of wise photographers have told me over the years, "Always look behind you." This backlit shrubbery was behind me when I turned around from making photos of a moonrise at the Pine Tree Overlook of the Blue Ridge Parkway. ©2020 John M. Hudson | jmhudson1.com

Missing the herring.

Thanks to ground*floor (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chromaticaberrations/) for the texture!

This is a forgotten rose,, it appears from the shrubbery this time of year, then when we cut it back, it goes into hiding again.

A look to the southeast while walking around and taking in some sights at a planned bus stop on the ride out to North Face Lodge in Denali National Park & Preserve. One can see Divide Mountain more or less around the upper center of the image. Other snowcapped peaks are off in the distance. I used some nearby shrubbery and angled my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward to created a more sweeping view across this glacier plain and river valley.

Pesky fallen trees plague a short NS T35 on their trip north to Royal Blue, Tennessee.

A stately courthouse with a clock tower stands at the end of a quiet street, surrounded by lush green trees and well-maintained shrubbery. The sky above is clear and blue, creating a serene backdrop for the architectural details.
