You know I can't go too long without sharing a shot of our sweetheart pup Bailey. ;) Unfortunately I haven't been able to take too many new ones lately, as Bailey has been recovering from a surgically repaired knee.

Our little mama tore her ACL while playing outside, and has been on the shelf for the last two months. Fortunately for her, she'll be 100% by the middle of spring... Just in time to get ready for swim season.

Get well soon Bailey girl!

Storm system headed my way

Tried to display everyone on a shelf but failed. I did think it looked good enough to warrant a picture though.

This winter shelf will make a great addition to any home.

Check out the store for other great items.

Crazy fast moving Thunderstorm with the wall cloud. Dumped about 1-2 of rain in about 15 minutes. Ran away just before the rain started!

This is from a dangerously looking storm that approached Brisbane today 11 Dec 2008. The shelf cloud was intensifying as it got closer to the CBD but then minutes after the shot at the bottom it lost it's fury and weakened. Experiencing such a formation is most rewarding....it's just something you don't see everyday. Having said that, we do have a very good storm season so far. I wonder what the rest of this summer will bring.

Did not get much rain from that here...a few km further south they got in excess of 60mm from that storm

Part of my kokeshi doll collection. I love the variety of shapes and sizes, and I especially love the weird-looking ones!

SO fun to rearrange things! :-)

I decided that my tiny Picco Neemo girls needed another shelf, so I put together this mid-century modern inspired shelf It's basically 1/12 scale like my girls.. It's still a WIP, I have to figure out how to smooth out the brick walls, add some wall art & assorted decorative items, & most important, figure out what to do about couch cushions. I don't really sew, so actually making tiny cushions is beyond me. I'm thinking that maybe I'll try covering the wood pieces that are the "cushions" it comes with, with fabric. That may be enough.

Books on the shelf...Image of pleasure.

Bottom Shelf Boots old boots lined up and hoping for a new life. found in North Carolina.

A few old TNG and SW mini-figs plus some gaming miniatures make for great toys for toys.

Underneath a shelf cloud a lone tree stands prior to an oncoming storm cell. Dowerin, Western Australia

Found these handmade, hand painted, colorful and ingenious wooden figures in a little shop in Antigua. They are designed to sit on the edge of a shelf or ledge. I do not know what the artist calls them, so I dubbed them shelf-ies.

in my sewing room. blogged!

little village (£2 charity shop) on my lovely new floating shelf! blogged.

This incredible cloud formation came rolling across Lake Michigan this evening around 7:00 p.m. On the news they called it a shelf cloud. Whatever it was, I have never seen anything like it before. It was stunning!

Okay the shelf is finished! Much better.

I flipped it upside down, cut part of the original legs off, designed and then jigsawed some new front and side pieces, painted, and voila. A NEW SHELF!

The dolly shelf in my work room. Don't they look cute on the new shelf ?

I have 15 Blythe dolls now, Gertie went to visit Auntie Gina and my Vainilladolly nomad is still a WIP. But there are 15 Blythe dolls now ;)

And don't forget about the Lati dolls too!! ;)

Let's name them shall we? Left to right:

Labcoat, Creeper, Butt Launch, Spindle....ok now back story....nope, no back story here.

Couple humanoid and and a couple slightly alien bot designs.

When larger creations are in the works these guys end up being made from the leftover scraps and generally dwell in the cracks and crevices of the display shelf.

My first ever storm chase.

Around 8AM, I noticed darkening skies to my northeast. An area of moderate rains were 10 miles away but looked like it would pass just to my east. This system was moving at least 35mph. As it approached, a nice shelf cloud formed and I tracked it as it moves overhead.

The interesting feature of this weather phenomena was the appearence of striated clouds at the far ends of shelf cloud. I will post these in a separate FLICKR upload.

This shows part of the only open shelf in my kitchen, in a corner near the window. It was a bad choice - it is the perfect “step” that allows a cat to jump up to the top of the wall cupboards! Obviously, Bella uses it frequently.

I rearranged the living room yesterday.

The shelf feels much better than it did before...and MUCH better than it did one year ago

This is what the shelf used to look like before I painted it, turned it upside down to vary the shelf spacing & added legs.

Blogged.

Busy around the house tonight, so no witty commentary on this shot.

Thanks for looking!
