said she. Then she continued, with another two companions, searching for grubs on a group of old casuarina trees. This is how my visit started. After such a long absence I was overwhelmed by what I could watch and photograph. I captured 21 different species (saw and heard many more), amongst them several lovely families with chicks, cygnets and ducklings. Some birds were still building nests, some were patiently incubating.
What a show!
I did not mind this sensory overload at all.

La vedo ed è amore a prima vista, gran voglia di scattarle subito una foto, ma sarebbe indelicato, così salgo a bordo, mi presento al Primo Ufficiale che dovrò sostituire e disbrigo tutte le pratiche, prendendo anche conoscenza della nave che non conoscevo (mia prima volta a bordo di un veliero) Solo verso il tramonto mi prendo 5 minuti per scendere a terra e immortalarla. I velieri sono più belli in mare aperto, con le vele spiegate e gonfie di vento. Ormeggiate in banchina, come anche ancorate in rada, le vele sono raccolte e quasi invisibili. Ma io la guardo e il cuore mi batte più forte
On the third day in Bridgetown, early in the morning, a person from the ship's support agency arrives and takes me to the port. dock area for cruise ships. As I see her it's love at first sight, I really want to take a photo right away, but it would be indelicate, so I get on board, introduce myself to the Chief Officer who I will have to replace and take care of all the paperwork, also getting to know the ship that I didn't know (my first time on board a sailing ship) Only towards sunset I can take 5 minutes to go ashore and immortalise her. Sailing ships are more beautiful in the open sea, with their sails unfurled and billowing in the wind. Moored at the quay, as well as anchored in the harbor, the sails are gathered up and almost invisible. But I look at her and my heart beats faster

Common Brushtail Possum (Trichosurus vulpecula)
I think this is the same Mama Possum that spent some time in our Pittosporum Tree a few times earlier this year. She stayed in this spot for about 6 hours this morning.

The False Garden Mantis I recently found in my potted Chrysanthemum is still there and came out yesterday as I was watering my plant. She then posed gracefully for me :)
I have another yellow Chrysanthemum in my flower bed and, today, found another, younger Mantis among the flowers but she quickly hid in the foliage when she saw me :( /
La Mante Religieuse que j'ai decouverte recemment dans mon Chrysantheme en pot s'y trouve toujours. Elle est sortie hier, alors que j'arrosais ma plante et a pris la pose fort gracieusement :)
J'ai un autre Chrysantheme jaune dans mon parterre de fleurs et aujourd'hui j'y ai trouve une autre Mante Religieuse, plus jeune et plus peureuse, qui s'est empressee de se cacher dans le feuillage lorsqu'elle m'a vue !

This rock holds significance in local legend. It is said that Trøllkonufingur is the finger of a large witch who arrived on the Faroe Islands to attempt to throw them northwards to Iceland. The legend holds that she was unsuccessful in this mission, instead reaching the sea by Vágar and turning into stone from the power of the sun. Due to her sheer size, it is said that she fell backwards into the ocean, with only her finger sticking out of the water. That pointed appendage became what is now known as the Trøllkonufingur.

She's got me spotted and some other photographers around me...keeping our distance of course. This Grizzly mom's first concern is to protect her young.
A short wander off of trails or away from the camp area around Baldhill Dam. Standing along the banks of Lake Ashtabula. Shortly after this we also had a heavy-clouded rain storm come through, a first of the season! My favorite is the melting 😊
Up and beyond the opposite embankment are rolling prairie hills containing pasture land, fading into cropland and farmsteads. The "prairie pothole region." There are so many interesting features along this area of the river: unique geological features and both historical or culturally significant areas.

A female mountain bluebird gives me an inquisitive look. Possible she was seeing a reflection in the lens or thinking that long lens hood would make a great nest site.
This young lady seemed to like my car quite a bit too, checking out various parts: side mirrors, grill, hood, tail pipe, wheel wells, roof, and probably other parts I didn't notice her looking over.

Photo taken on our trip to Loire Valley in France. The Château de Chenonceau was dog friendly and she was able to walk around the beautiful gardens and was able to be carried inside the castle. It also had the maze garden that Laika had fun running around in circles.
