Memories share space

Four moments on time hang here

Reminds me of love

Red rocks and blue sky share space in the desert.

Northern Cardinal and House Finch males both finishing their molts and sharing space

A Manhattan-Bound N train enjoys the last seconds of daylight before going under 4th Avenue to meet up with the R Line. To the right is a cut of cars awaiting interchange between New York and Atlantic and New York and New Jersey.

Looking across the bus lane in the shared space area of the interchange by Southend Victoria Station and Queensway. The high rise buildings are in Victoria Avenue.

Big Lots FINALLY reopened its Olean store after a nearly 6-month long remodel....

The store actually shrunk a bit a bit and honestly left me a little disappointed with their new product selection. The store cut back many departments back to move furniture from its prior alcove space into the store itself. Furniture has been expanded to cover at least 1/3 of the sales floor.

Big Lots stupidly cut toys back from 4-5 aisles before to 1 and 1/2 now. Electronics (taking an aisle) is now just the basic headphone and cellphone accessories. I don't recall seeing any movies or video games. Home Office (previously two aisles) supplies looked to have either been cut entirely or share space with the electronics in that one aisle by offering basic pens and pencils.

This location previously sold at least an aisle's worth of hosiery and at least a 1/2 aisle for diy and auto care products. Those departments looked to have been removed entirely.

This area was previously the checkout lanes and exit behind them. The entry and exit door swapped places.

“Lo-Lux”: This project explores the possibility of combining low-income housing with luxury housing in one tower by giving these two types of housing a different interpretation in public space - in both domestic and the shared space of the tower.

In modern context, “luxury” equals to “privatize”. Luxury apartments tend to privatize everything to guarantee the least amount of disturbance from others, therefore we have luxury apartments with private swimming pool at the balcony, private gym and home theatre within the housing unit. In this case, luxury apartments are located at the half of the tower which adjacent to High Line in this project. These units have the view of High line, larger unit space and standard layout.

Low-income housing is usually featured with shared space because that’s the more efficient way to distribute space as a resource. Communal kitchen or restrooms are designed for social housing at the beginning. The idea of the Pilotis from Le Corbusier was also aiming at freeing the ground floor space for public use. However, with the development of virtual communication tools, people tend to stay at home to communicate with others virtually, rather than going out physically. Now, the public/shared space for housing needs to be subdivided and scattered.

There are three signs for departments, home, seasonal and pantry with the signs below. but at least it has a better frozen food selection then Kmart....

I started this for a collage challenge that was out there somewhere. I lost where it was and also think I am too late. But I am still happy with the card and glad I got the Heart Winged Butterfly out. She was getting a little grumpy in the drawer waiting for Halloween to be over. She thinks she is better than the frogs and doesn't like having to share space with them. I think the frogs tease her a bit too!

Las Olas River House is a 42-story residential skyscraper located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It stands as one of the tallest buildings in Ft. Lauderdale and in Broward County. The structure is a complex created by three adjoining buildings; two duplicate 42-story towers, and one 34-story tower.

The building has 285 residential units, made up of one, two and three bedroom condominiums, and also includes a 10,000-square-foot (930 m2) glass walled fitness center that overlooks the New River which is only for the exclusive use of residents, and a 60,000-square-foot (5,600 m2) rooftop garden on the sixth floor. Las Olas River House condo includes a sixth-floor cocktail bistro lounge, separate quiet library area, private meeting room, poolside cabanas and a major conference area for meetings and conducting business. Las Olas River House also contains “Smart” building features that allow all its residents to access all the building’s amenities at a touch of a button.

The building is part of a highrise boom in the downtown area, along with other condominiums and residential towers such as Las Olas Grand.

On May 5, 2014, Axis Space, a four floor coworking community, opened their private office floor. On January 2014 Axis Space opened their shared space, dedicated space and conference rooms.

Every Man a Gunner

The 70-foot, four engine B-17 heavy bomber was not only built to fly long distances at high altitude (1,800-mile range, 35,000 foot ceiling by 1941) to drop a three-ton load of bombs.... it was also well armed. When Boeing introduced the test model in 1935 the impressive battleship of the sky carried five 30-caliber and 50-caliber machineguns with which to defend itself against enemy fighters. That staunch array of firepower prompted early newspaper reporters to dub it a "Flying Fort." By the time the first Flying Fortresses began arriving in England in the summer of 1942 to begin their bombing campaign against Europe, they were sporting as many as a dozen or more 50-caliber machineguns. Each B-17 was crewed by a team--ten men--and each of them was a gunner.

On the ceiling of the Flying Fortress and directly behind the pilot in a rotating Plexiglas bubble were mounted the twin fifties of the Top Turret, usually manned by the senior enlisted crewman and aircraft ENGINEER. Further back in the fuselage the radio man's training equipped him to handle all necessary communications during the mission. When the bomber was under attack however, he was quick to man his own gun from the radio room hatch to ward off enemy fighters.

Behind the radio room and beneath the fuselage hung the clear Plexiglas sphere of the Ball Turret Gunner, a cramped and dangerous position critical to defending the belly of the Flying Fortress. Above the Ball Turret the two waist gunners manned their own fifties, defending against attack from the left or right. Further back in the tiny crawl space beneath the vertical stabilizer the Tail Gunner crouched at his own twin-fifties to protect the rear. These six men comprised the enlisted component of the Flying Fortress crew, and could ably protect their airplane from attack from any direction left, right, above, below or behind.

The bomber's NAVIGATOR and BOMBARDIER shared space in the vulnerable nose of the Flying Fortress, one of the Luftwaffe pilots' favorite points of attack. Each had specific duties in terms of plotting the route and accurately deploying the bomb load, but both were quick to defend their airplane with their own fifty-caliber machineguns. It was estimated that the typical navigator spent 5% of his time navigating, 95% of his time behind his guns. The same was true for the bombardier.

Only the pilot, in the left-hand seat of the cockpit, and the co-pilot on his right, did not have assigned and readily accessible machineguns to turn on attacking enemy fighters. (In fact, some pilots such as Major Jay Zeamer in the Pacific, went so far as to have forward-firing machineguns mounted in the nose of their Fortress that could be triggered from the cockpit.) Not infrequently did the demands of intense combat necessitate the co-pilot leaving his station to replace a killed or severely wounded comrade at one of the many guns spread throughout the Flying Fortress.

These ten men were more than just the "crew of an airplane"--they were a team. "One word explains how we got through the hell over Europe 25 times--and back home without a casualty," stated Bob Morgan who piloted the famed Memphis Belle. "TEAMWORK!" For the most part, the squadrons of the Army Air Force maintained crew integrity. The men were assigned together, slept in the same billets (though officers and enlisted had separate tents or buildings), and flew together except for those occasions when one might be pulled to assist a separate crew when one of their members was ill or injured.

After launching up the stairs, the visitor finds themselves in the vaguely subterranean hotel lobby proper, surrounded by furniture and objects specially developed for it by Broached Commissions and designed by the likes of Lucy McRae, Adam Goodrum and Charles Wilson. These items share space with mid-century furniture pieces selected by Hotel Hotel’s room designer Don Cameron. Fender Katsalidis Architects and Japan’s Suppose Design Office designed the Nishi building proper, and March Studio is responsible for much of the lobby. That makes for a lot of “chefs in the kitchen,” with more unmentioned, but the various strands of the design do somehow emulsify into a single, coherent experience.

Molonglo Group worked closely with Cameron to develop a sensibility for the hotel as a whole. They describe this as inspired by the romantic ideal of the Australian shack, which relates in turn to ideas of authenticity and sustainability. The idea that the shack, a housing type born of grinding rural poverty, could inform a purpose-built, boutique hotel for Canberra’s fly-in fly-out professional class might be a little too rich for some. Shack chic rhetoric aside, though, there is a lot to be admired of a hotel interior that features furnishings and materials of enduring quality, many of which are “vintage” at that. Whether or not they will be able to weather the vagaries of fashion and demand for the forever-new remains to be seen, but for now the sentiment is commendable, even brave.

Trying to get my “studio space” back to what it used to be. We’ve added kitties and people and I used to know where things were. Not so much anymore.

The history and soul of the old industrial buildings is palpable as soon as you step inside the space, and it provides an experience unlike anything else in the city.

Dotted around a shared indoor courtyard filled with greenery and natural light, you’ll find hole-in-the-wall spots where you can pick up a coffee, a cold-pressed juice, some serious sourdough, a beautiful pastry, tapas and a glass of wine, Japanese yakitori barbeque and more. Find a cosy nook within one of these establishments, spread out on a comfy lounger or head outside to the courtyard. The shared space invites you to find your own favourite place within The Welder.

In ancient times, back in my town there was a myth that if you draw a circle around you, the paranormal forces wouldn’t be able to harm you. The village was remote, population was sparse and travelling mode was by foot or using animals. So, this myth helped the solitary travellers keep moving during lone nights of burning summer.

Indeed, there is wall, a boundary that protects us from all cruelties of world and nurtures our soul; home and our family. Family isn’t a mere relationship between a group of fellows living together. It’s a bond of hearts and connection between souls. It’s not about sharing space or food but falling in lifelong selfless love and building unshakable trust.

Family is happiness.. discover it (if you haven't yet)!

What’s better than a stadium? We vote for an arena in Las Vegas that just so happens to be home to professional sports and world renowned artists and events.

Yeah, that’s a bold statement, but T-Mobile Arena is a bold venue. Wanna know how bold it is? They built the darn thing (complete with 20,000 seats) before a sports team was even approved to come to Las Vegas.

Not having professional sports in Las Vegas is no longer an issue, as the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights have made T-Mobile Arena their home ice. Not afraid of sharing space, various other sporting events have set up shop here as well, including NBA basketball games, UFC and MMA fights, boxing matches, PBR World Finals and other NHL pre-season games.

On the music side of things, everyone from The Killers and John Mayer to Garth Brooks and Martina McBride have all had their Las Vegas concerts here. Don’t get it twisted, T-Mobile is big names only. Since we’re talking music, this is probably a great time to mention that this place has even hosted awards shows like the Billboard Music Awards, NBD.

Oh, and because it wouldn’t be a party in Las Vegas without one, T-Mobile Arena also has a nightclub inside. Yeah, you read that right, a nightclub. Located above the event action, Hyde Lounge features 18,000 square-feet of space complete with bottle service, DJs, VIP elevator access and skyline views of the Las Vegas Strip. Nightclubs in Las Vegas are pretty sweet, right?

We’re not supposed to play favorites here, but just look at this place. What’s not to love?
