For even as love crowns you, so shall he crucify you.

Even as he is for your growth, so is he for your pruning.

Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tender branches that quiver in

the sun,

So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the

earth.

- Khalil Gibran..

Alamo Square Park, San Francisco

Alamo Square Park is situated on a hilltop(highest point of the hills of SF?) overlooking the Bay and on the far the Goden Gate Bridge. It is a beautiful view from there to watch the Bay on either side in cool breeze and green filled park . as we feel at heart as on top of the World:).

The part of the Western Addition surrounding the park is often referred to as the Alamo Square neighborhood. Its boundaries are not well-defined, but are generally considered to be Webster Street on the east, Golden Gate Avenue on the north, Divisadero Street on the west, and Oak Street on the south. It is characterized by Victorian architecture that was left largely untouched by the urban renewal projects in other parts of the Western Addition. The Alamo Square area contains the second largest concentration of large homes (over 10,000 square feet) in San Francisco, after the Pacific Heights neighborhood.

The park includes a playground and a tennis court, and is frequented by neighbors, tourists, and dog owners. On a clear day, the Transamerica Pyramid building and the tops of the Golden Gate Bridge and Bay Bridge can be seen from the park’s center. San Francisco’s City Hall can be seen directly down Fulton Street.

A row of Victorian houses facing the park on Steiner Street, known as the "Painted Ladies", are often shown in the foreground of panoramic pictures of the city's downtown area. A number of movies, television shows and commercials have been filmed in or around Alamo Square. The opening sequence of the American sitcom Full House (1987–1995) features a romp in Alamo Square Park with the famous row of Victorians in the background.

Which way shall I go from here? It is a cul-de-sac?

.

I guess it is cul-de-sac because, “The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost.” by G. K. Chesterton

.

I have faith in Thomas Kempis who stated, “Without the way , there is no going; without the truth, there is no knowing; without the life, there is no living.”

.

Therefore, “Believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find the ways to do it. Believing a solution paves the way to solution.” by David Joseph Schwartz

.

BECAUSE -- "Walk on a rainbow trail; walk on a trail of song, and all about you will be beauty. There is a way out of every dark mist, over a rainbow trail." by Virginia Woolf

.

REMEMBER: "Never walk one way and look the other." by unknown

...you could see them considering whether to run, but in the end they stayed put as we passed.

Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) I'm not sure if this is breeding behaviour or two males fighting. They carried on for a few minutes landing kicks quite often.

A male Cedar Waxwing shows off to an unimpressed...but attentive... female Cedar Waxwing.

The north wind shall blow,

And we shall have snow,

And what will poor robin do then,

Poor thing?

He'll sit in a barn,

And keep himself warm,

And hide his head under his wing,

Poor thing.

Tenerife 2014

Shall be posting an Image a day for the next year, 365 (or 366 if it is a Leap year...not checked!!).

The Format will be different...some images have been shown before, some are new...... At the moment I am now starting a "New" Project.....Well it is "New" for me, although it has been done before by many, many People too!!!.

I will follow the direction I have chosen but there is plenty of room for me to chop and change at a later date...I guess it depends how I feel about it at a later date.

This Project will now give me the time to work with other ideas I am playing with. There will still be months in which I post other pics too from themes I have worked with in the past......I have just made a little more time and space available to me.

So hope you like the changes.......

Riverdance was the most awesome shows I have seen in a loooooooong time!!

That evening was absolutely magnificent, I watched the setting sun for a while and as I turned around I suddenly noticed you could already see the full moon on the sky in the opposite direction.

Slowly learning how to take selfportraits in front of other people without caring too much about it - just dance away :)

Shall blog it sometime this week. A great retreat in the hills <3

Defending his lady, defending his territory, defending his nest... This White-crowned Lapwing was very busy chasing off any bird that came near...

The highlight of my visit to the NEC for Focus on Imaging was not any fancy camera equipment (of which there was plenty on show), but seeing Ola and James dance live with an opportunity for some shots and a little video-so we start slowly and build to a climax later !!!
