Das letzte deutsche Vollschiff, ein Dreimaster, Schulschiff Deutschland ...
ist ein ehemaliges Segelschulschiff der deutschen Handelsschifffahrt. Das letzte deutsche Vollschiff, ein Dreimaster, liegt heute ganzjährig im Neuen Hafen in Bremerhaven.
Da der Name Deutschland schon für das bereits geplante, aber noch nicht gebaute Panzerschiff Deutschland der Marine vergeben war, wurde bei der Schulschiff Deutschland die Funktion Schulschiff mit in den offiziellen Namen aufgenommen.
Das Schiff wurde 1995 als schwimmendes Kulturdenkmal anerkannt.

is a former sail training ship of the German merchant shipping. The last German full-rigged ship, a three-masted ship, is now moored in the New Port in Bremerhaven all year round.
Since the name Deutschland had already been assigned to the Panzerschiff Deutschland, which had already been planned but had not yet been built, the function Schulschiff was included in the official name of the Schulschiff Deutschland.
The ship was recognized as a floating cultural monument in 1995.

Die Dubai Marina ist ein Stadtteil von Dubai der mal etwa 200 Wolkenkratzer beherbergen soll in denen dann bis zu 120000 Menschen wohnen werden. Der Stadtteil wird von einem mit dem Meer verbundenen Kanal durchschnitten an dem sich Jachthäfen und einige kleinere Bootsliegeplätze befinden.

A set of SDMs get ready to depart West Chicago with a NIPSCO train. During the CNW days, power didn't run through, so one got to see "J" power quite a bit on the WSD.
I got lucky catching this gal. I first got some okay shots of her up in a tree a bit far away, but later I heard her at the feeder behind me. I'm usually not a fan of shots with feeders in them, but this woodpecker was worth it!
On September 1, I snapped this picture while on a walk at the Windy Hill Open Space Preserve. Since it is late in the season, most of the fields are dry with the subtle colors that come from these gentle shades. On my way back down the hill, I saw these stands of dried flowers -- I think that they are thistle -- and found the image pleasing to the eye. I wanted to hint at the clustered stands of these stalks of dry grass, which is why I've set it off center and allowed the foreground and background to show slightly.
Taken with a Pentax K10D with the smc P-DA* 50-135mm F2.8 ED (IF) SDM using a circular polarizing filter to control the glare of the mid-day sun. PP with UFRaw where I applied a gentle S curve, desaturated slightly, and then did some further enhancing with GIMP.
