We were up early for a Winter Bird Count and found that the moon had not yet set. This is a few days after the full moon (Snow Moon).

66791 operating as a GBRF shunt loco and is preparing the 6E17 19:52 Peak Forest GBRF to Stourton Cemex GBRF.
To the right ex DB loco 66126 in new DRS livery as the standby shunt loco.
The weather absolutely spot on last night for this impromptu trip.

An early morning stock move from Carlisle Kingmoor to Burton behind work worn DRS 37716 was potentially worth photting this morning.
I was aware it was to be six 'coffins' but was not prepared for three of them being the 'scabbiest' I have ever encountered! Not sure why this move came about but I am sure somebody out there knows?

Just a record shot. Just enough light left in the sky to get a shot. as we fall away from the 21st of June, these shots will be less possible, but for now, with less passenger traffic and more freight traffic, I will try and get out to record what runs.
Een (n)ostalgische scene aan de achterzijde van het stationsgebouw van Cranzahl (Saksen, Duitsland) die terug doet denken aan de tijden in de voormalige DDR. Maar ook de IFA S4000 vrachtwagen kan niet verhullen dat verschillende details aangeven dat we hier niet meer te maken hebben met de Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR). Vandaag de dag rijdt de SDG Fichtelbergbahn de stoomtreinen - gelukkig nog als vanouds - naar Kurort Oberwiesenthal.
A nostalgic scene at the station building of Cranzahl (Saxony, Germany) with amongst others an IFA S4000 truck remembering the days during the former DDR. However, details show that no longer the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) is in place; SDG Fichtelbergbahn is nowadays running the narrow gauge steamtrains - as in the old days - to Kurort Oberwiesenthal.

Usually operating in the evenings along this section of railway, Network Rail test diagram 1Q90 today is operating in daylight hours along the West Anglia line, likely to allow earlier stabling at Cambridge in advance of the upcoming rail strikes.
Running around 1 hour early at this point due to a scheduling mishap, Colas Rail Class 37 diesel locomotive 37421 leads the consist and a out-of-view 37175 through Stansted Mountfitchet working 1Q90 08:00 Derby R.T.C.(Network Rail) to Cambridge Reception Sdgs 20/06/22

SDG 99 1789 entering the Radebeul shed after another day of work on the Saxon narrow gauge line Radebeul-Radeburg. The engine was withdrawn from service some days later.
