We were up early for a Winter Bird Count and found that the moon had not yet set. This is a few days after the full moon (Snow Moon).

Bit of a shame this was so filthy, nevertheless here's 66779 "Evening Star" at Chellaston with 6D44 11.10 Bescot Up Engineers Sdgs - Toton North Yard. Pole shot. 12/01/22.
An early morning stock move from Carlisle Kingmoor to Burton behind work worn DRS 37716 was potentially worth photting this morning.
I was aware it was to be six 'coffins' but was not prepared for three of them being the 'scabbiest' I have ever encountered! Not sure why this move came about but I am sure somebody out there knows?

Door Corona en familieomstandigheden, waren we niet in staat om bij Plandampf in het Werratal te zijn. Maar na zoveel jaar kruipt het bloed toch waar het niet gaan kan. Daarom besloten mijn vader, mijn oudste zoon en ik in de meivakantie naar het voormalige Oost-Duitsland af te reizen om daar te genieten van smalspoor stoom.
Nadat we twee dagen de Zittauer Schmalspurbahn hadden bezocht, gingen we door naar Dresden. Daar werd als eerste op 2 mei de Lössnitzgrundbahn bezocht. Een spoorlijn waar we nog niet eerder geweest waren.
Due to Corona and family circumstances, we were unable to join Plandampf in the Werratal. But after so many years, the blood creeps where it can't go. That is why my father, my eldest son and I decided to travel to the former East Germany during the May holidays, to enjoy narrow-gauge steam.
After visiting the Zittau Narrow Gauge Railway for two days, we continued to Dresden. The Lössnitzgrundbahn was the first to be visited there on May 2. A railway line we had never been to before.
Aufgrund von Corona und familiären Umständen konnten wir leider nicht bei Plandampf im Werratal sein. Aber nach so vielen Jahren kriecht das Blut dahin, wo es nicht hin kann. Deshalb haben mein Vater, mein ältester Sohn und ich beschlossen, in den Maiferien in die ehemaligen DDR zu reisen, um Schmalspurdampf zu genießen.
Nach einem zweitägigen Besuch der Zittauer Schmalspurbahn ging es weiter nach Dresden. Als erstes wurde dort am 2. Mai die Lössnitzgrundbahn besichtigt. Eine Bahnstrecke, auf der wir noch nie zuvor waren.

SDG 99 1789 entering the Radebeul shed after another day of work on the Saxon narrow gauge line Radebeul-Radeburg. The engine was withdrawn from service some days later.
After arriving earlier in the day on 6Z28 0613 Chaddesden Sdgs to Brandon Down Sidings with a full load of JNA's. The loco stabled all day then went back light engine on 0Z29 1813 Brandon Down Sidings to Chaddesden Sdgs leaving the JNA's behind.

60044 ‘Dowlow’, the regular shed on 6H02 Arpley Sidings to Tunstead Sdgs, was once again at it on the 28th Sept ‘22. The DB red 60 was seen sweeping through Plumley in great autumn sun.
Approaching Winwick Junction, DCR No 56103 on 6Z55 12.39hrs Chaddesden Sdgs to Carlisle Kingmoor V.Q. 'spoil'. Well pleased finding out this was a solo Class 56 on this working rather than the usual double headed. 3rd June 2019.

As stated in previous posting Monday’s “additional” stone workings provide further photographic opportunities.
Traversing the freight curve from Northwich onto the Middlewich line is 66177 with 6A11 10:00 Dowlow Briggs Sdg - DB Cargo Fan A&B Sidings. Taken from the footbridge situated at the south end of the triangle.
The encroaching shrubbery is in need of cutting back so the long loppers may have to be considered!
