Shooting the Dales with a Videre Pinhole Camera, made from recycled card.

Not mine, this belongs to a gentleman I met at Dovedale. That's the River Dove in the background, running very high at the time and flooding the paths. I couldn't walk any further along this side of the river so I turned back, headed for my car and drove to Ilam Hall...left Hubby to enjoy a few hours of fly fishing, just behind where I'm standing. I did return to collect him!! :))

Info from Videre

VIDERE is an original medium format do-it-yourself pinhole camera kit. You can make it in around an hour. Working without a lens, it instead uses a simple precision laser-cut 0.4mm pinhole to take photographs onto medium format film.

Each kit is screenprinted and die-cut individually by hand onto thick recycled card and supplied with instructions, a spare medium format spool (reclaimed from some of the best darkrooms in London) and a precision laser-cut pinhole along with all of the other bits you'll need to construct your VIDERE. All you need is a 120 film and some craft glue.

View of an asbestos textile moneybag, a vintage novelty item by H. Fishlove of Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. - 1967. The coarse cloth contains approx. 75% chrysotile asbestos, but sewn together with cotton thread (hey, it's a gag-gift).

The asbestos textile moneybag shows a screenprinted "guarantee" that one's money is in "FIREPROOF ASBESTOS - TO GO SAFELY THROUGH HELL - FIRE - BRIMSTONE". Although, not certain how one could challenge such a claim, but the silly premise of the novelty is certainly worth a chuckle, right?

Unfortunately, the apparent hilarity of the moment might be "short-lived" realizing the ironic twist that asbestos may bring one's demise a little earlier than expected.

Screenprinted tour poster for musician Noah Gundersen. Based on his song "Nashville".

I made holiday cards with my Print Gocco B6 and wrote a very detailed tutorial (more detailed than most of the others on the web, I think).

This was one of the better prints I got. It's in the basic blue ink on Canson Montval cold-press watercolor paper. The cards have a border that my scanner didn't want to reproduce.

The design is from the Cobb-Shinn Christmas dingbat font. It's commercial clip art from the mid-20th century and is available for free at dafont.com. I think it's really vintage-looking. This design is the letter Z in the font. It's not perfectly square, probably due to the age and condition of the original art.

My two Gocco articles are located at:

I helped Friends of the Earth to design a logo for their tree planting event, as the tee need to be printed in europe, schedule is tight, i just have 2 days to design...and i suggest to print in yellow instead of green, but it's not bad tho...

Both "ingeo" and friends of the earth organized the "Tree planting" event in hong kong, and ingeo sponsored 200 corn tees for all participants.

The tee is made of corn, and the quality is fine, but it cannot be ironed, guess they would keep improving the tee quality :)

British Museum

The huge glass covered ceiling of the great court at the British museum is hugely impressive. It is the largest covered public square in Europe, a two-acre space enclosed by a spectacular glass roof with the world-famous Reading Room at its centre.

The roof covers an area of 6,000m2 and weighs 800 tonnes (478 tonnes steel / 315 tonnes of glass).

The 3,312 panels of glass are screenprinted with small dots on 50% of their surface - a technique called 'fritting'. The fritting filters ultraviolet rays and reduces solar gain.

The courtyard is 96m long (length of façade of Buckingham Palace) x 72m wide equivalent to the size of Wembley football pitch
