Couple of videos from my Scram day in Scotland last week!
Duke's Pass and Three Lochs Forest Drive which runs off from and back onto Duke's Pass!
I looked on as these young bucks were sniffing my bag, flipping it, taking turns rotating it, licking it, sniffing it again. Then I heard the sound of velcro ripping open. So I put the kibosh on the nozy nuzzling. My fence pliers went missing for a month, because they fell out here. It's lucky cows don't have opposable thumbs. They'd be halfway to Canada by now. Calves seem a bit like Labradors at this stage; lanky, feisty, energetic and getting into everything. The three ruffians in this clique would see me strutting by and they'd trail after me just like dogs.

We went out for the First Friday ride. Fun was had by all!
This guy was picking up after folks at the VFW. I just thought it was cute that he was wearing an Oscar shirt and carrying around the trash can. :)
I asked him permission to take this pic, and he was not grouchy at all.

It was pretty chilly out last night with a good wind so the water was pretty choppy. This was a fairly long exposure and I would have loved to have had more time to try a few more shots but a homeless man had woken up and started throwing things at my girlfriend and I so we scrammed. I think this was the best shot of the night.
A view of X-15 #2 (there were three X-15s built, 66670, 66671, and 66672). The object on the ventral fin under the plane is an early scram jet engine. They have yet to have a real success test of a scram jet engine.

This is where the 'scram" kill switch was located in Control Room No. 4. At 1:23 am on April 26, 1986, this switch was flicked, a malfunction occurred, causing the meltdown. Normally this switch would immediately terminate the fission reaction in the core by inserting all the control rods at once.
I put up this series of Images from todays travel as a tribute to all the
Birds and other animals in the Gulf.
The true love and care this bird showed for her babes is so touching.
She gave me a little hiss...just a bit...to remind me "
Hey this is my show" ...and "dont you belong back at home mindlessly
looking at the computer screen...I have important business here."
