I have been a bit slack lately. Finding it hard to get motivated.

These are only my 4th images I have posted on Flickr so far in 2023.

Anyway this is a compilation of 140 images. each 20mm, 13seconds, f/1.8, ISO 1250 and stacked in comet style format with StarStax.

I placed one small, Digital Foto light, low on the fence to the left, set to temperature of 4200K and power reduced to 1%., .

I spent the night under the Pinnacles sky, watching the stars carve their paths across the darkness while rotating around the south celestial pole (SCP). The silence of the desert and the vast expanse above create a surreal atmosphere, making you feel both insignificant and deeply connected to the universe. Capturing these star trails is always a humbling reminder of how small we are, yet how beautiful and intricate the world can be when we take the time to truly look up. Every streak of light is a moment in time, a glimpse into the endless motion of our world.

Boring shot of stars. Somewhere in there is the SCP, anybody know where?

When we arrived the area just seemed to be a ordinary part of a city. There was trash piled up and well tended to gardens, like people had been living there. Upon further investigation there seemed to be just unfurnished empty rooms. Most windows were covered from the inside anyway and only a few of the elevators worked, limiting our access to the site. The ventilation and plumbing were all operational despite there being no use for them. Once our team began to disperse and investigate the site further, the entities appeared and began attacking us. The part of the fireteam still on the ground was soon under attack and the five of us topside were separated. They attempted to scale the wall bet were met by one of the creatures. The creatures were agile and wielded daggers, seemingly appearing from no where at all. They were shrouded in darkness and had two glowing eyes. We fought for not even ten minutes before suffering heavy casualties. After massacring half my team they disappeared and we were able to continue the investigation. We found evidence of a black ops crew that had come months before us. They all had gone down fighting. Some of them seemed to have been able to get inside, to areas that were no longer accessible. The only evidence was one of the corpses hanging out the window. Whatever this area was it needed to be locked down and then further expeditions could be conducted.

NOW it's finished:

Longer suppressor (Parker)

Larger barrel (Davidman)

DA trigger (ApertureScience2011)

No clever title here but you get the gist of it.

Also, I have something planned that has to do with SCP as well, think of it as a Halloween "special".

"Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Dr. Millar and the SCP we're going to be studying today, is SCP-811."

'We had but one chance to put things right. I do not know if you can save us. I do not know if you can change who you one day may be. You say you are trying to survive through your time, so you may live into mine. I really hope that you, you, do.

But above all else, there is one thing you need to know.

From one maker of music to another, across all worlds, all times, no matter what you do or what you become: You are nothing less than beautiful.'

SCP-1342-1 is a replica of Voyager 1. Exact replication of the original probe extends to sensor packages and apparent chemical composition. However, some components appear to have been constructed based on incomplete plans or parts. As a result, several components were non-functional upon recovery.

SCP-1342-2 is a gold-plated phonograph record, with specifications matching the Golden Records carried on the Voyager probes. Instructions for playing and decoding remain original. However, the pulsar map has been altered to show the star Gliese 445 as the origin of SCP-1342.

When decoded, SCP-1342-2 contains a variety of cultural and scientific data in the form of images and audio. Approximately 2 hours of audio recordings are present, consisting of various forms of music and atonal buzzing. Part of the music appears to be an excerpt of Cavatina from the String Quartet No. 13 in B flat, Opus 130 by Beethoven. The encoded images vary greatly in content, but all contain physical or chemical information on the subject (e.g. size, mass and orbital period of a planet), and a string of pictorial characters.

A radially symmetric organism (referred to as SCP-1342-3) is shown in various stages of development. Fully grown, the organism is approximately 2 m tall, and has three legs and three elongated arms, with each hand having three fingers, positioned around a central axis on a roughly cylindrical torso. Three snout-like protrusions exist in place of a head, each ending in a beak. 82% of the encoded images show SCP-1342-3 in a wide variety of presumed cultural settings. Scenes identified include agriculture, manufacturing, urban crowds and the playing of music on a string-and-bow instrument.

So this one is an rather complex SCP with a rather complicated and heartbreaking story. I think it's best told by Youtuber Thevolgun. Click on the link to hear more about SCP 1342 youtu.be/w7SJzD5uqdQ

Took a few photos with my phone propped up on the wall. What do you think?
