Canadian space agency astronaut Joshua Krutyk practices sample collection before entering the cave.
Astronauts from five space agencies around the world take part in ESA’s CAVES training course– Cooperative Adventure for Valuing and Exercising human behaviour and performance Skills.
The three-week course prepares astronauts to work safely and effectively in multicultural teams in an environment where safety is critical.
As they explore caves they encounter caverns, underground lakes and strange microscopic life. They test new technology and conduct science – just as if they were living on the International Space Station.
The six astronauts have to rely on their own skills, teamwork and ground control to achieve their mission goals – the course is designed to foster effective communication, decision-making, problem-solving, leadership and team dynamics.
The six cavenauts of this edition of CAVES are ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst, NASA astronauts Joe Acaba and Jeanette Epps, Roscosmos’ cosmonaut Nikolai Chub, Canadian Space Agency astronaut Josh Kutryk and Japan’s space agency Takuya Onishi.

The Exploring Earth Science Teacher Workshop 2017 took place over August 2nd and 3rd. Participating teachers spent two days in Shenandoah National Park learning and participating in activities around the theme "Shenandoah Salamander: Climate Change Casualty or Survivor."

The shelf made scientist Dr. Panda believes that Education is a life long process whose scope is far greater than school curriculum. The moulding of models/ innovations done by hand always better than the things heard and the facts incorporated in the books.
With no agricultural background, Dr. Panda has developed unique natural bonsai in his Vijnana Bana Ashram which also shows path for earning just by uprooting and nurturing the plants which are found to be small and thumb in nature.
Dr. Panda's Scientific Endeavour and research is no doubt praise worthy. One cannot but believe his dedicated effort in simple innovation laboratory.
Social service, innovation/ inventions, writing, free technology to students for preparation of science exhibition projects, free technology to common men for their sustainability, preparation of big natural bonsai, technology for entrepreneurs and industrialists for innovative item are few works of Mihir Kumar Panda after his Government service.
. To overcome the difficulties of science and math, explanation in classes, innovator Panda has created few thousands of educational, societal and scientific innovations which helps teachers and students of the country and abroad.
Dr. Panda believes that though inventions/innovation has reached under thousands and thousands deep in the sea and high up in the space. It has reached on moon and mars, but unfortunately the sustainable inventions/innovation has not properly gone to the tiny tots and common people.

BEAMS OF TWO DIFFERENT IONS CAN BE PRODUCED ON ALTER- NATE PULSES AND DELIVERED TO ONE OR TWO SUPERHILAC EXPERIMENTERS AND TO BEVALAC. FIVE MAJOR BEAM LINES, WITH 13 TAR-GET AREAS DESIGNED FOR VARIOUS STUDIES, ARE CURRENTLY IN OPERATION AT THE SUPERHILAC. AT THE BEVATRON, RESEARCH IS CONDUCTED IN MEDIUM TO HIGH ENERGY HEAVY ION NUCLEAR PHYS- ICS, PLUS CLINICAL TRIALS FOR HEAVY ION RADIOTHERAPY. EIGHT BEAM LINES ARE AVAILABLE AT THE BEVATRON/ BEVALAC. THE POSKANZER-GUTBROD STOCK GROUP AT THE LBL BEVALAC HAS ASSEMBLED AN ARRAY OF DETECTORS TO PERMIT IMPACT PARAMETER SELECTION. BY TRIGGERING ON HIGH ASSOCIATED MULTIPLICITIES, CENTRAL COLLISIONS (NEAR ZERO IMPACT PARAMETER) OF RELATIVISTIC HEAVY IONS CAN BE STUDIED. Near the end of the summer, I was asked by the publishers of Popular Science magazine to produce a visualization piece that explored the archive of their publication. PopSci has a history that spans almost 140 years, so I knew there would be plenty of material to draw from. Working with Mark Hansen, I ended up making a graphic that showed how different technical and cultural terms have come in and out of use in the magazine since it's inception.

The Science Carnival is sponsored by the CSU Channel Islands science departments under the leadership of Dr. Phil Hampton, Professor of Chemistry. This annual event first started in Fall 2009 with approximately 250 preschool through eighth (PK-8) grade students attending the event. Over 2200 PK-8 students and their families attended the 2016 Science Carnival.
